  1. HOLY CRAP I just ran across this wiki site! http://www.ausubaru.com/wiki/index.php?title=ENGINE:WEBER We need to have a mod stick this somewhere important
  2. What are you going to do for a snorkel? I've never figured out how to hook one up to a carburetor. A homemade one at least...
  3. try a 32/36 DGEV. It's got the electric choke, which is much easier to hook up than the DGAV, which has a water choke. Don't forget to pick up an adapter plate.
  4. This design is really basic but it works very well. Its what i have on my 85 gl ea82. http://ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=94629 a drawing of the front lift is about 3/4 of the way down the page. The rear lift is just 2, 1 1/2" thick pieces of 2"x2" steel tubing. Just out of curiosity, what lift are you going to get? SJR?
  5. Or just go the easy route and drill out some six lug rims. Also, you can make a lift kit for under 20 bucks, depending on the price of steel. I would also recommend a weber carburetor. Its way easier than a EJ swap. And lots of lights! What color is it? Do you have any pictures? Dual range or single range 4x4?
  6. My Wagon has a budget light setup Wal-Mart lights zip tied to the roof rack, NAPA utility lights on the bumper hooked into the wiring from the dealership fog lights that rusted off a while ago John
  7. So i went wheeling on saturday and managed to twist a strut in half. I went to pullapart and got some struts of a loyale and a GL. Today i started to replace the bent strut, but discovered that the new struts are about an inch and a half longer that the adjustable struts that are on the car now and no matter what i do, will not fit. Is there a way around this and how would i go about mounting the strut. BTW, there is a 2 inch lift on the car. Its an 85 GL wagon
  8. Looking at those pics im kind of glad i didnt go. I would have busted something for sure
  9. Oh, I get it now. Thanks! Is the tack weld necessary for the ones on the top of the page? And then the bottom part is a 2x2x2 with offset holes
  10. I was thinking it might not work because the gen 3 wagons have 3 mounts instead of 2 like on a hatch
  11. Yes, it would be a good idea to get a new one, but I already have the used carb, rebuild kit, and adapter plate so i might as well keep going. And when i was talking to my dad about it, he mentioned boiling parts?
  12. I was looking at the front tires on my wagon the other day and they are getting eaten up because of the camber. does the offset lift work on gen 3 wagons? if it does, that is getting fixed immediatly
  13. I recently purchased a used Weber from one eye, and i'm going to rebuild it. the problem is that i cant find any instructions on how to do it. I've done a search of the forums, but anything that comes up has been deleted. HELP
  14. the car has trouble getting over the 35 mph mark, and it doesn't accelerate very well still. And a clicking noise coming from the passenger side axle area
  15. I bought a weber from one eye today. getting a rebuild kit and adapter plate tomorow. hopefully that will remedy the problem
  16. I have an 85 GL EA82 and it wont go over 25 miles per hour. What could be causing this?? I know it has a vacuum leak in the carb and in the y pipe seal so that is what i think is doing it, but I'm not sure.
  17. The lift is done! pics later :banana:
  18. Actually the blocks are 1 inch wide. I tried to have them 2 inches but they don't fit. And for TeamCF: This lift is incredibly cheap, unless your struts are crap (like mine). The amount of $$$ I have invested into it is about 5 dollars for nuts and bolts. I picked up the 2x2 tubing for free and borrowed a chop saw. Then just drill the holes and you are done.
  19. If you could send me the bigger one that would be great! Thanks!
  20. I will have to try that. Edit: Doesn't work. I ran a test light from the ground of the wiper motor to the negative battery terminal and it says that there is current passing through the motor. So i guess my next move is to get another wiper motor and plug it in and see what happens. Does anyone have a wiring schematic of the wiper motor so I can figure out what the green wire does?
  21. I have an EA82 Wagon and the front wipers don't work. When I turn the switch to any position I don't hear any clicking. A test light proved that there is power to the motor when the switch is in any position, and my voltmeter says the motor should still work. But there is no current in the green wire and i don't know if that is good or bad. I checked fuses and they are fine.
