  1. It has the tilt steering wheel, A/C, P/S, and leather seats, but no cruise control. I believe the brake switch is different for CC. 4 wire vs 2 wire.
  2. I had an assistant turn the key back and forth while checking for voltage, but i had no idea where the FPCU was. Thanks GD! we'll see what happens when i get a chance to work on it next.
  3. Hey guys I have a 91 Legacy L with an automatic and i want to transplant cruise control from a parts car onto my car. What is all the stuff i need to pull? I already have the vacuum pump, the servo, the switch, and the control unit. What else do I need? Thanks!
  4. Hey guys I've been putting togther a hatchback as a project and when i tried to get it to start, i couldn't get the fuel pump to work. I did some searching but i couldn't get anything to come up. Where should i start looking? I unhooked the pump under the car and hooked a multi meter to it, and didn't get any power. So I think the fuel pump is still good. What controls the fuel pump? Thanks!
  5. hey guys, im currently putting together a lifted hatchback with a H/O dual carb motor out of an airplane for a guy. tried to get it to start, but the pump did not prime. went to check voltage at the pump, but i'm getting 0 volts. had an assistant turn the key back and forth to see if anything happened. Is there a common part of the fuel system that causes this problem, and is there an easy way to bypass the fuel pump control unit? Also, where is the control unit? Thanks! ~Yohn
  6. The bottom lights are off one of these I found em in a blackberry patch in oneeye's personal junkyard btw subimonster, check your messages
  7. I had one mounted and tried on the new shoes. they fit! and they only rub when the car is flexed out on corners! So let it be known that it is recorded that you can fit 215/75/r15's on a gen 1 legacy sedan with outback struts and springs. EDIT: it would appear that they have about 1/8" clearance in the front of the rear fender well. you have to remove the plastic trim piece and cut out about 1" of metal.
  8. hey can you show me how you put those KC's on your A pillars? I want to do the same thing on my legacy. Thanks!

  9. The Jeep still hasn't been found. keep your eyes open
  10. Hey guys what's up! Haven't been here in a little while. Got the Legacy runnin good, just did a bunch of work to it. Anyway, it's a 91 Legacy sittin on 98 outback struts and springs, with 195/75r14's. I just picked up a set of the 15 alloy GT rims and I am wondering what is the biggest size tire i can run. I have a set of lugged out 215/75/r15's that i had on my 85 GL. I would love to use these, because they are paid for. Here is the car as it sits now And these are the tires: So I am hoping that these will fit, i know i might have to remove the mudflaps And another question as well; What is the best color to paint the GT rims? I was thinking about painting them gloss white, but if i did that, i would have to keep them clean. Would something like gloss black look good?
  11. wednesday morning: after the commute: that afternoon: trying to clear out the parking lot: After that, i went across the street and towed about 6 people out of the mall parking lot, then when i tried to go home, the timing belt jumped about 10 teeth. A guy in a truck towed me back across the street and i dumped her in the parking lot and i managed to replace it today, after digging her out.
  12. these ones http://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/accessory-lights/6-inch-off-road-light-system-95811.html
  13. So is there anyone in Australia who sells air cleaner boxes and throttle linkages for a dual carb EA-81? Because that's what i need for mine.
  14. This is a little off topic but i think it is relevant. How would a dual carb EA81 stand up to a EJ18 swap? EDIT: Parts car! http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/pts/2195989311.html Jeff, this is the guy i bought my legacy from. he lives about a mile from my house. want me to contact him?
  15. used ones for 15 bucks a piece at the junk yard
  16. hey guys. i have been browsing the internet looking for a new clutch disc for my wheeler, and the biggest problem i have is that they don't specify weather it is for a 2wd or 4wd. I can get a clutch kit through work for 130 dollars, but being the cheap rump roast i am, i am looking to spend less than that if i can, and that includes spending 35 dollars at farrels auto wrecking for a disc that is in better condition. i dont want to spend a lot because i am a starving college student that spends way to much on cars anyway. so if anyone can recommend a place to find a clutch disc for cheap, that would be awesome. looking to spend less than $40 shipped btw. thanks guys!
  17. you can fit the 235/75-r15s without lift if you cut out the fenders and hammer in the wheel wheels. It shouldn't hurt the tranny if you use low range up to 35 mph with that tire size If you want to upgrade the alternator here is an excellent way: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=983463#post983463
  18. hey just saw that comment. Those are re-drilled six lug rims. i've got three sets of them. you can find out more using the search function :)

  19. A welded diff in the snow is a terrible idea. it sends the back of the car sideways and you end up fishtailing until you stop gaining speed. I would recommend a 5 speed transmission swap but i do not know if that is possible at this point. Also get some larger tires. not sure what selection you have where your at. You also might want to strengthen the underside of the car, or make skid plates, or something of the sort You shouldn't hurt the tranny in low gear as long as you dont excede 35 mph/55kph. Those trannys have a thing for blowing up 3rd gear and reverse though, in their old age Also, a brush/deer guard, offroad lights and high output alternator might be a good upgrade For tire size, 215-75-R15 is a good tall, skinny tire for snow use and turn radius in the fender well, though some cutting and bashing is required What are you going to do to keep the engine warm? I assume you will be in some freakin cold places, dont want the motor to freeze.
