I own a 99' Forester with 190,000 miles. I am trying to decide if it is time to sell. It needs an exhaust system, new tires before next winter, regenerative gas fume system repaired before E-check in March, it is burning oil (2 quarts per 7000 miles), leaks transmission fluid, and cv joints are clicking in sharp turns. It only has a few rust spots. Interior and exterior are fine. It runs fine. Any thoughts?

My 99 Forester with 167,000 miles is making an odd knocking sound from somewhere in the engine. I only hear it at idol with my head under the hood. Could this be the waterpump bearing failing? It was replaced with the timing belt at 90,000 miles. This sound a lot like the sound my 1980 dodge cold water pump made when it was failing.

Is it likely that I would need to replace plugs or wires after 50,000 miles? The car runs rough when first started after it rains. I spritzed the wires with water and saw some minute sparks in a few spots. This car has 153.000 miles. The wires are subaru wires. I did not see any arching on the distributor.
