  1. Turbo axles are 25 spline and Non turbo axles are 23 spline. if both transmissions are 3.7:1 Diffs it is likely that both are turbo trans with 25 spline
  2. so according to that tag the weight should be around 2,620 lbs curb weight with no passengers or cargo. GVWR(Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) meaning maximum weight approved for vehicle use. I have a hard time believing that a Loyale wagon is close to 4000 lbs... but I could be wrong:-\(I have never weighed mine, but I will next time I pass the weigh station on the highway) Ben
  3. see if you can drive the pin back in the way it came out to dislodge the tool. pins are cheaper to replace.
  4. Damn, I just placed order 143. any chance I can slide in under the wire? PLEASE!!!! Thanks Ben
  5. 85-86 GL front bumpers are considerably shorter than the later models. I am doing this exactthing to my 91. As far as bosy kits you could use one off of an RX.
  6. I am not sure if they sell to the public... http://www.alaskasteel.com/contact.htm Google search
  7. have you tried emailing them a request? you might get lucky they might have some old ones sitting around. It seems to me like a five lug swap might be cheaper than ordering wheels from Australia.
  8. The first time I saw one of Matt's videos it was "Wagon Attack II" I can't wait to see this project. I received information on this from my friend at Demon Rally about this a few days ago Contribute!!
  9. No problem, just passing on some lessons I learned.
  10. there is a size conflict between the XT6 axle and the EJ knuckle inner seal. I am not sure if the ~.078" larger diameter of the XT6 axle will cause premature wear or cause fitment issues, but it is something to keep in mind. if you haven't already sourced the axles, you could go with a 93-94 Impreza Fwd manual trans. axle, 23 spline DOJ and proper outer that will fit perfectly with your knuckles. Ben
  11. I used XT6 tie rod ends and found some thinner jam nuts because they have to be turned almost all the way in. but they work great.
  12. so the XT 4 cylinder struts are the same as the EA strut in respect to how they mount to the knuckle. the XT6 are similar to the EJ knuckle including the balljoint size and upper mounting surface. XT6 front spindles will work with Leg/Imp/WRX style struts however you will not be able to use the camber eccentric bolt like the ones that are on the ej knuckles. and you will have to widen the opening on the strut to accept the xt6 knuckle. short comparison of the two, I can elaborate if you want or just PM me. Ben
  13. Rob is still there? I haven't been over there in fifteen years or so, they did really great work for me in the past, which I am sure they still do. Ben
  14. I agree, that is the most probable source for being near the fuse box. Good luck!
  15. Secret squirrel stuff huh? Decals for your rocker panels?
  16. I have impreza front knuckes with Loyale calipers. Check out my Five-Lug thread
  17. when I did my swap, I ended up having to put the knuckle in a bridgeport mill with an end mill and cut a slot in the axle nut so I could break it with a drift punch. ended up effing up the axle too... oh well.
  18. I am in Duvall a couple times a week, the next time I drive my wagon I will stop by.

  19. Cool! I wish my garage had high ceilings like that.
  20. I got a wild hair this weekend and built a rack to hold the couple extra sets of tires and wheels I have. it had to accommodate both a 25" tall tire and a 32" tall tire. they are now out of the way.
  21. I am glad someone was able to use the wheels and tires and I was able to get them out of my garage. good looking wagon for $825! now the most important thing is to have fun with it. Ben
  22. Welcome! that looks like a nice clean wagon. Ben
  23. do you want to re-drill for a six lug or do a five lug swap? here is the thread for my five lug swap. Ben
  24. That would be a great alternative in a gl wagon to buying a vw tdi
