  1. yeah I like Carnation, that is 20 minutes from my house!! but I am not sure they have a facility big enough. Dirt Fish Rally is down the road in Snoqualmie WA they have a really cool facility not sure on the price though.
  2. What transmission do you have now? I am assuming that it is a 3AT. If that is the case any ea82 3at with a 3.9 diff will work. Ben
  3. you also need a re-drilled EA82 flywheel or flexplate. SJR lifts does both flywheels and adapter plates, there are a few others that do them too. Although you can do the flywheel yourself fairly easily. Ben
  4. it seemed to help, it was rain snow mix today on my way to work today and it seemed to work pretty good.
  5. Thanks guys. They are a b!tch to keep clean, bit worth it when they are clean.
  6. no, its a DEMONRALLY.com sticker, when they had the rabbit with sharks teeth! just a quick cell phone pic of the whole car. I will update when I actually get a chance to put on those mud flaps you sold me.
  7. So I actually got some time to do this today. it turned out pretty good I think. thanks Rob for the info and Suberdave for the part. Ben
  8. you need an axle that has an five lug outer spline shaft and an inner spline that will match the transmission that you have in your car, Impreza or Legacy AWD/EA82 turbo/XT6 25 spline. 93-94 Impreza FWD M/T or EA82 naturally aspirated 23 spline You can use a the FWD Impreza M/T axles like I did on my car if you don't want to mess with making axles out of two sets. however if you use the XT6 front spindles and hubs you should change the inner axle seal. there is a thread that will give the part number for it (I believe its for a Toyota Previa but I don't know what year or application) Ben
  9. It's not that they won't fit... You can change the inner joint cup that attaches to the transmission, to the right one that fits your transmission. I think that's what you were asking.
  10. I have a rear air deflector that I bought about a year ago and I want to put it on my 91 Loyale, Anybody have one installed on their wagon? I am requesting pics and measurements on how its positioned on the tailgate. Thanks Ben
  11. I love mk1 two door jettas! and that rabbit reminds me of my old 83 Rabbit GTI
  12. *subscribed* that car is really clean, I can't wait to see how it turns out.zzz
  13. simple answer... yes sort of. the XT6 has a 25 spline doj on the front axles so if you do not already have a turbo transmission in your Loyale you will need to source the correct 23 spline front axles. as far as the XT6 front strut top hats, I do not know if they are the same as EA82 top hats. I am also assuming that your Loyale and the XT6 are 4wd. the rear swap took seriously an hour to do, direct bolt on using the same axles, just modify the brake line to fit in its new home. simplest way to lower is probably coilover sleeves.(at least that is the route I am taking) Use the search function, there are alot of threads on these subjects I spent a lot of time researching before I bought all the parts to do my swap. Ben
  14. thanks for all the replies, I ended up getting a Yakima load warrior with all 4 locks on craigslist for $200. I can still use my bike racks without taking the basket off! pics tomorrow (probably)
  15. not just a straight forward metric tap, it is an oversized diameter with the same thread pitch.you might be able to source one in a 'very fine' thread pitch but I don't know what diameter would work. so the kit size is M10x1.25. I replaced all 4 of the studs (2 each side)
  16. the thread size is a M10x1.25 the Heli-Coil kit requires a 13/32 drill bit and uses their special tap size the part number on the tap is 575-10. I just bought a kit a couple months ago and it was $65 from NAPA. I should say that this was for my EA82, I believe that they are the same thread size/pitch. I can't remember if they were ea81 or ea82 in 1985. hth Ben
  17. I'm with the others on not removing the pedal cluster... it is a p.i.t.a. I changed mine when I did the 5speed swap.
  18. I am thinking that my wagon will be close to "done" by then, would like to go this year.
  19. I would go for the one with the cleaner body and interior. you will probably be in both of them for the same amount of work an my guess is really close on the dollar amount. depending on actual engine condition. I bought a running ea82 complete ready to blot in for $100 from a board member that had just completed an ej swap. spent about $200 for parts to reseal it. Ben
  20. glad to hear that you found a good one. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed when I read that you weren't getting the 87, but I understand, it kind of loses all of the "cool" factor that you are paying for if you have to redo everything that is supposed to make it cool... I hope that made sense:confused: Ben
  21. I bought mine from rockauto about a year ago... NOS Subaru part around $100. Subaru part # 15010AA036 Ben
  22. yes and no... these are generally for experimental type aircraft which allows you more leeway when dealing with scheduled maintenance. that being said the mind set is to generally err on the side of caution, so regular visual inspections are done without extra requirements. here is an EA82 in an "air trike" similar to an ultralight (hang glider with a seat and engine basically) LINK damn I wish my engine was that clean...
  23. It is a propeller drive reduction box, this is a fairly common usage in light sport aircraft. Although I can't remember the name of the company that makes it.
