it sounds like your coil is staying energized, check for 12v at the coil when the key is off/on and see if it changes.

welcome back!! I finally got that d/r trans I bought from you installed in my wagon, it's working great!

could the "wing" be this piece?
-
yeah, you can buy them from Waytek Wire, they are called Carling Contura Rocker Switches. Link the only thing about that sit is you have to order certain volumes and have a minimum order. other than that they are great to deal with. Ben

pinout on delco 21023479
tractor pole replied to littlefish's topic in Non Soob Cars and Bikes Discussion
I would need to see pics to be certain but you can buy a harness that will plug into the radio that is just like the one in the car look for Metra part# 71-1858 http://www.metraonline.com/part/71-1858 it is the standard GM 21 pin plug, it was used from 1988 to 2005, you might even be able to get one from a junk yard for a couple bucks. you will also want a gm antenna plug adapter and antenna if you are planning on listening to AM radio, or you can stick a wire in the antenna and get fm. or if you want to solder connections on at the radio... these are the same as the saturn radio connections. http://www.andylphoto.com/fiero/wiring.html -
good point, I just don't seem to have a lot of extra time these days... maybe if you don't mind snapping some pics and taking a few measurements when you remove it? there are somethings I would do differently if I built one myself. but I figured I could deal with it for a little while... but knowing me I would probably cut it up and make it the way I wanted and completely waste all that $$$ for shipping.

I believe that it can be fastened to the stock cross bars, but I will be using a yakima rack that mounts to the rain gutter.

So I guess I'll stay tuned to this thread to see what happens with the bumper... thanks Ben

I ordered my EMPI axles from RockAuto.com $60 each.

if that falls through, I'm in.. seriously.

I think it will be able to hold a spare for a 205/55-16 although it wouldn't be a permanent place for the spare, just to get it out of the cargo area for a trip.
-
I'll trade you straight up for my stock one...:-p

is this the one with that really cool front bumper? Ben
-
has anyone had any experience with these? pics of them installed on a wagon? I believe that Rhino is an Australian company but I could be mistaken. not a bad price on Amazon $160 with free shipping. thinking about putting one on my 91 Loyale. using it primarily for camping and hauling around a spare tire maybe... I really like the Yakima Load Warrior but I do not want to spend $350 for the rack and locks...

XT6 front sway bar hitting power steering line

Price range on a 88 GL
tractor pole replied to zeroforhire's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
they come up every once in a while. just keep a look out, seems like there are less for sale during winter time. I don't think your price is out of line but you might expect to have some minor problems with the car. I picked up my loyale for $200 it ran but needed work. -
Stolen red XT6 in Everett, WA area

I will keep an eye out. Haven't seen many around here that nice. Hopefully he recovers it. -
how to clean this...
tractor pole replied to ontherun987's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I second this, I have a wash mitt that is dedicated for this and wheel wells usually an old wheel wash mitt. I must be ocd or something... three wash mitts. I only do a pressure wash/steam clean if I am pulling the engine. my.02 Ben -
Light Bar / Brush Guard / Bull Bar / Skid Plate
tractor pole replied to Skemcin's topic in Products for your Subaru
Nice pieces, I definitely appreciate a part that can be installed and then taken off without leaving evidence(i.e. holes, rub marks...) in the rally world a good skid plate can save your day and possibly season. Good luck with your new business! keep up the quality work and you will go a long way. -
But the turbo 3at is a 3.7 right?
-
the 3AT I had in my 91 had a 3.9 diff. I believe the 3EAT was a turbo tranny
