  1. I found this for an 82-87 BRAT I am assuming that the wiring colors are the same. Constant 12V+ N/A Go to Battery Switched 12V+ Blue/Yellow Ground Black Illumination Red Dimmer Red/Green Left Front (+) Yellow Left Front (-) Blue/Red Right Front (+) White Right Front (-) Blue/Black Left Rear (+) Yellow/White Left Rear (-) Blue/Red Right Rear (+) White/Blue Right Rear (-) Blue/Black hope that helps Ben
  2. it sounds like the voltage regulator is going bad. it is internally regulated and you will likely have to replace the alternator. lots of amplifiers have an over-voltage protection circuit built in, likely it isn't hurting it but is certainly annoying. Ben
  3. I have a 91 Loyale wanted to run some seafoam through the vacuum line, according to their website it states that special precautions must be taken when adding seafoam through a vacuum line on subaru opposed engines. will it be as effective if I feed through the vacuum line that goes from the PCV valve to the brake booster? any thoughts? Ben
  4. sounds like the oil pressure sender is going bad. or there is an intermittent short in the wire somewhere? my .02
  5. an 86 BRAT is an EA81, correct? I think it might be too narrow.
  6. I was wondering about the grill, I am looking for a full setup if possible. I will keep you in mind for the corner lights if I can't get them with the setup. I am not sure about that I thought the EA81 cars were more narrow than a EA82 car, but I may be mistaken...
  7. I was wondering if the buckets bolted up, I will be getting Hella H4 hi-lo and a H1 Hi beam light, rewiring. so I guess all I really need is the buckets, trim and corner lights. Ben
  8. I am looking for a set right and left of DL headlight buckets and side markers I am assuming that this will bolt up to my 91 Loyale and I am looking for a solution to the lighting (lack of) problem. like this: thanks Ben
  9. I am guessing that it won't turn over right? just a clicking sound? In that case I might suspect the starter contacts are going or gone bad. happened to mine, I 'tapped' on the back of the starter with a dead blow hammer. started right up after that. hope that helps Ben
  10. I heard about this last night, a friend was competing in MaxAttack and posted about this. It a tragic accident that reminds us how dangerous and unpredictable these events can be(unfortunately they seem to come with the sport), thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends of Matt Marker. Ben
  11. I just noticed that today. I was looking for a vacuum leak but I assume it is to drain condensation out of the canister. I don't know if it is contributing to the leak or if it is something not to worry about.
  12. where did you get the "shark Rabbit" Demon Rally fender? Tom is a very good friend of mine. p.s. Sorry for the Hijack.
  13. from your picture it appears that you have the yellow (radio side) attached to the orange(harness side) which is illumination +. the constant + is the yellow (car side) the one with the white plug with the male spade connector.
  14. In my experience waiting only makes it worse, fixing it is easier than getting stranded and paying for a tow and potentially missing work. I mean you will have to fix it anyway.
  15. use a standard 5 pole 30A SPDT Bosch relay, here is a helpful link I have done this an almost all my cars except the ea82.
  16. I agree, I think that CODE ALARM used the led/valet switch but I haven't seen one in a long time. I believe it is a factory unit (added by the dealer) which I believe were made by Code Alarm with a subaru part number.
  17. I am trying to find a pic of the factory battery mounting clamp for my 91 loyale wagon. the person who owned it before me just wedged the nylon strap under a fender bolt... I was going to just get some j-hooks and top plate from napa. but I wanted to see what the stock application looks like first. any pics would be appreciated.. Thanks in advance, Ben
  18. If it started after you moved the fusible links back to the coolant bottle, I might suspect corrosion or a broken wire. I would look at the wiring going to the fusible links and move it around and see if that changes the condition especially if it is running like its supposed to.
  19. this is the exact thing that happened to me. pulled the caliper back off and cranked it back in and reinstalled still works great.
  20. ha it was one I had in the bottom drawer of my tool box, I got it for my mustang when I was 18. I replaced the factory paper cone speakers with some 4x6 plates I had there too. but I got some new 6" door speakers too. couldn't take it anymore. if I have to drive 104 miles round trip everyday I need a cd player that works, and has an ipod hookup.
  21. Great thread, I think I have conquered the "tick of death". So new oil pump, h2o pump, timing belts, tensioners, idler pulley, crank seal, cam seals and cam carrier o-ring. now I have a small exhaust leak I have never noticed before:grin: oh well better than someone at a stop light telling me that I need to check the oil... driving it to work tomorrow after I put my new cd player and speakers in. I figured the wagon deserved one since the old I bought in 1998 and the radio doesn't get reception and it won't even play new cd's.
  22. I am ready to buy an oil pump on ebay, but I don't have access to am OE parts catalog, could anyone confirm that the OEMpart# 15010AA036 is compatible for my 91 Loyale?(non turbo, AT, oil prx gage still works soI do not need a sending unit) all help is appreciated thanks Ben
