  4. thanks for the info!!!!!sounds like this is it i hope?!?!?is this a part that has to come from subaru??if not any help finding these would be awsome, not too up on where to get subaru parts as i have not had to put many on any i owned before!
  5. sorry if this gets old!!95 legacy lsi wagon,auto,180k.been searching for about an hour about torque bind and cant seem to pinpoint my problem.all brand new tires same tread, air pressure etc.put the fuse in,no problems, take it out, turn left and right, get the feeling of an old 4wd truck in low range, more so to the left.the awd does work when it is needed, get a little clunk but after that nothing even in a turn with the awd spinning.i am not getting a code on the dash at all.have replaced the filter and done the drain and fill method about 6-8 months ago, replaced with synthetic fluid.diff levels are good and were filled/changed at the same time as the flush.getting a little aggrivated at this car, love it,just hate sinking money in it only to discover that wasnt the problem or it is another problem!!!any info would be helpful with this before i pull my hair completly out!!! i have only posted once before, but got good info, hoping to get the same results again!!! hoping this isnt the $800-$1000 problem i have been reading about!!i am mech. inclinded to do most of the work myself, but as posted before, the whole electric testing and wiring stuff,a little shakey!! thanks!
  6. no i havent tried putting a jumper to the starter itself, didnt want to burn anything out!when you say the selenoid you mean where the smaller wire hooks in the starter, just want to be clear!and as to pulling apart the starter,i do have the ability to do that,if thats what it takes, starters arent cheap and for 3 months old i dont really want to be replacing it every 3 months!!i will give your suggestions a try this weekend.thank you!
  7. hey,new to this site but on my second subaru.i have a 95 legacy lsi wagon, auto aprox.180k on car & 70k on new motor.i have been having an issue with the starter, sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesnt!no clicking ,and all the lights are on.if i give it a tap with something,it usually goes.it was fine up until 3-4 days ago.i replaced the old one wich was doing the same thing only 3 months ago, also put a new battery cable on,cleaned the terminals and connections.battery is maybe 1 yr old,it is whatever the factory specs are.anyone have an idea??i am mechanically inclined, but not too much with the electrical side!hopping it is something simple, starters arent cheap!!also,i was planning on putting a remote start on it,but not sure about it messing with the starter? anyone have any suggestions on witch remote start is the easiest to hook up or should i just scratch the idea???thanks for any info!!
