  1. Keep it simple.. U said an hour before that you were our sliding it around in the snow? could be water moisture under distributor cap... You said spark at coil wire.but needs to get out of cap to spark plug.check for spark at plug end... just dried my brother s cap...no more skipping ....!!!!!!!!
  2. GD, Thank you for replies and added info........I now need to decide if I get my crank ground and new bearings. Can't seem to find a rebuilt crank exchange.I would most likely rering pistons also. Not sure as reassembling the engine is involved. I still meed to price both ways.. are there vendor you could recommend for these parts?
  3. The 99 engine is from an outback .so that wont work? any model 2.5 after '00 will work.,is how I understand it. what year foresters and rs engines am I looking for? salvage yard says I need an 02 as others listed have different sensors??? what off my 02 do I have to reuse on an '00 or newer 2.5. thanks for any help.I appreciate info as I have no idea what years I need.
  4. Need to know what year engines fit in my 02 legacy outback sedan.crank and rod bearings bad.split engine and have crank out.I thinking at this point it is easier to replace entire engine. Have all sensors and ran with no problem before severe rod knocking. Found locally 99. 2.5 but need to know if block will. Work.....I can reuse my intake or whatever else from my 02.
  5. I have been considering the same on the 86 I working on..brother wants me to Lamborghini the doors too
  6. Congratulations ...its in February issue Peterson's 4 wheel. Just saw the soob there a few hours ago. what a rag magazine tho 2 pages of heeps 1 page each for Chevy.Ford Dodge. I hate the heepers...and the stooges that drive them
  7. I have my brat on early bronco frame. 302 .solid axles. 4 link rear.37" tires.
  8. i just replaced my rear wheel arches, shock tower, and wheel well. i used a front fender, off a brat ,cut line in the area of the fender flare. it covers from the front molding over to the mud flap perfect match.
  9. that my son is an 84 flat four. thats a classic dad line. lol. thanks for the carb link last night. vvvrrrooomm vroom.

  10. wow there are rust free brats that still exist???? i am so abused in new hampshire. i have my complete rear out. tank, torsion tube, shocks,. now i welding in new right frame rail. properly welded and repaired will be as good as new. sure they rust but all can be repaired. you just have to work at it. it would be grreat to have rust frees at my end of the world. i do have 2 brats with about 110,000 miles, very little rust, but still had rust repairs to do
  11. yes, there is no neutral saftey switch. i had this same problem and found it to be a dirty connectioin to the solenoid. i put new terminal on black/white wire to solenoid, starts every time now!!!! you probally just have bad connection, its a simple stupid blade terminal.
  12. hi, contact cawain on here. i just sold him engine parts for ea 81. he is buiding three trikes in missourri. super nice guy. he is in a trike organization. the web site. http://www.btw-trikers.org there is a kit sullivan i think that adapts ea 81 to vw trans. good luck
  13. i have a 6" lift, although i had to replace hard line from inside the cab back, due to rust out .i ran it to origanal placement. i then got longer rubber flex hose. i believe a wagner part. i took a measure ment went to a good parts store. looked inthe back of the brake book. found a longer hose with the right metric ends. looks factory, and professionally done.
  14. may be take your drum off, knock out 2 studs, and drill the other 2. i have a bunch of drums. you can have one for shipping cost from NH 03071
  15. :lol:i am in southern new hampshire. i have several brats, 2 on road and two more next summer. i know there is a brat in hudson nh, bratteboro vt., bratman in me., anyone else around the area want to meet up have picnic, have a day of wrenching, have a little brat time,
  16. thanks for the tip. i love that racing. why no subaru? i knew there was reasoin i got hd tv and programming.
  17. NEW SEATS mint condition 1999 seats. now the brat is even more fun to drive. got rid of the crappy ford ranger seats.
  18. stopped at the salage yard. 99 legacy gt. narrow the hood and bumper and it will work. going to get next week. i have all winter to work it. also considering lamborgini door hinges..
  19. well my winter project is to put a newer subaru hood, fenders, nose on my next brat. looking to update nose and make it low, with ground effects, 14 or 15 wheels. most likely going with a six lug hub conversion. so the question is what year has anyone tried before? i like the rs rally look. need to go junk yard shopping in next few weeks. any ideas?
  20. hi, i posted about gen 2 brat strut mounts seperating. i was refered to you as tried gorilla glue for them. does that hold up.. is there a better mount i could make work, thanks in advance. brian

  21. why do these only last 2 years? the rubber seperates and when i jack my car up the strut falls down. i have same problem with subaru ones or aftermarket. so its inspection time and need to fix. should i remove the rubber and weld the plate into the mount. then i wouldnt have the rubber isolation but thats ok. just dont want to spend 150 again. is there a better mount or one to retrofit onto 84 brat strut/ with 6 inch lift
  22. hows he a victim if his gauge now works properly????? seems like he is happy, explain your victim,, i am a victim of this crappy usa. love fuji though:-\

  24. hhhmmm i live in new hampshire, havent had a sway bar for 4 years and got an inspection every year. i guess its how well you know the garage. i went to a dealer and they didnt give my bronco one because of no inside rearview mirror. baby mechanics, cry that its the law:confused:
