WCSS 11 = Great Sucess!
ThirdEyeHatch replied to Subarutex's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I had to leave early on sat and didn't get to stick around for awards. Are the winnners going to be posted? -
I have a two bay extra deep matco at work and love it. I have a older mac two bay top and bottom at home with friction sliders and hate it. If it were me I would spend the extra money on getting a tool box with the ball bearing sliders. Costco has stainless boxes with bb sliders and they seem pretty decent for a reasonable price.

I agree with a crapped out injector or two. Did the motor come with intake and injectors? Could be a stuck injector washing the cylinder down. You could touch a peice of paper to the dipstick and see if the oil climbs the paper, that will tell you if you have fuel downstairs. If it climbs the paper the oil is diluted with fuel.

Why would the pcv cause 1 cylinder to oil foul? -

The valve oiler on that cylinder must be sticking after it sits and free's up after you run it. Maybe its from the fart can you put on it. Jacob remember when we were lapping the valves in, and the valves rocked in the guides. We can pull the heads back off I have the valve grinder and guide knurlers now. -
another weird ea81 problem of mine

Oops misunderstood rubber boot not diaphram. Still could be the accelerator pump causing the delay. -
Carquest has them its a kit comes with a special tap/reamer and a puch that expands the top to lock it in place. When I do them I put a ton of grease on the tap and back it out often the re grease and go a little farther that way the grease holds all the chips. Then I red loctite the insert in. Usually the strap when they break off they either go out the exhaust or get imbedded in the piston neither of which I have seen cause a catostrophic failure.

The hole in the accelerator pump is definitaly giving the delay when you jump on the throttle. And check your pcv valve it could be stuck. -
Im betting the idle circuit in the carb is gummed up. Slap a weber on it. Did you set the timing?

Im pretty sure those relays are for AC. I know my car is wired for ac but dosn't have the rest of it.

Need a turbo guru
ThirdEyeHatch replied to ThirdEyeHatch's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Ok thank you. -
Im thinking about turbo charging a ej2.2. I have two schwitzer s1 turbo's and was wondering how I should route the wastgate. Should I run one big wastgate with a Y from the up pipes to the down pipe? Or individual wastgates? And I put it in the older gen area because its going in my hatch.

It still gets good gas milage so its kinda practical. Thats a good looking hach you got there chux. And thanks for all the good words you guys. I just wish I could have gone lower with those tires. Maybe lower with lo pro's
-
I might have to go with a awd tranny sounds like a good idea to me. It's real tight in the corners even with the big ol tires instead of low pro's. I got the rear shocks in and she rides alot better then my honda did. It will make it through the logging roads in green water im not scared of a little draggin.
-
Hey thanks there Bill
-
Not too worried about it mostly just wanted a dumped hatch. Camber is not that bad either. I also used a shorter strut so theres plenty of travel.
-
It is indeed a 4 wheel drive. I have a d/r 5 spd and an ej waiting to go in just need some parts and time. And I have a toyota to go wheelin so I figured I would build somthing to auto x or ralley on loggin roads.
-
There not honda springs the eibach spring for a honda with a cup kit and modified honda struts. Actually rides nice not bumpy at all.
-
Yeah im workin on that part.

Wondering of what you guys think of my hatch. I just got done lowering it. Before After

I was looking to put a aftermarket limited slip in. So it will go right into my carrier? -

Ok I just read all 17 pages and need some clarification. I have a EA82 D/R 5spd, to put in a aftermarket limited slip I need a carrier out of a legacy with the EJ22. Then put EJ carrier in my EA82 tranny with my ring gear and the aftermarket limited slip?
