I'm picking up a 91 Legacy for a song from a friend. The vaulves tap pretty bad. In the past I had a Loyale that was the same way. I posted on here for help and got lots of feedback for oil and filter combnations. I ended up replacing the oil pump, cam seal timing belt and micky mouse o-ring. I was wondering if anybody could give me a heads up on the Legacy. This is my first Legacy. Thanks for the help. 91 leg. fwd, 2.2, 205672 miles

I bought a 93 loyal with "wiring problems" for parts. The guy told me he toke it to the garage and they couldn't find the problem. I towed it home and went to pull out the clock and saw the switch had been flipped. I put in a new bat. and drove it for a little over 60 k before selling it. Best $200 I ever spent. Or should I say easiest $600 I ever made.

O.K. I checked the codes and I got 24 & 34. I've changed the egr valve once already. Oh well I'll do it again. As for the air control valve I have no idea where it is and my Haynes is no help. Thanks for your feedback so far guys.:-p

I have a 1993 Loyale 2wd and it's doing some crazy idling. It "surges" at 1000 rpm it goes from 950 to 1050 up & down up & down. My check engine light has been on for awhile I thought it was because of the bad diode pattern in my alternator. I haven't checked my codes yet but plan on doing it sometime this weekend. Any help would be great.

I was coming home from Maine this weekend in my 93 loyale fwd and I heard a clunk and it pulled to the pass. side for a whole sec and then it was fine. I was on 89 north about 45 min from home and I noticed the tires sounded louder then normal. I have four studded snow tires on it so it was pretty loud for me to notice it. It was a humming and at first thought it was the road surface then I realized if I turn the wheel to the pass side it would go away. All this is happening at 70 to 75 mph. I got off the highway and this is when it got fun. It keep doing it now it would clunk and pull two and three time in a row. I pulled over checked my tire and looked to see if there was any rips in the cv boots and tie rod boots. No rips nothing in the tire so I pull on the tire and it's a little loose like the tire rod might be bad. So now I'm scratching my head is it the tie rod or maybe the wheel bearings? Any feedback would be great.:cornfuzz:

Looking for a Carfax freebie. I'm looking at a 2001 Impreza rs wagon with a flood title. I hope to get more info on the car. The dealership said "don't know why it has a flood title" but I find that hard to believe. Any help would be appreciated.

EA82 Oil pump seal: Will this fix my noisy lifter?
korrupt66 replied to asavage's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I changed my oil pump altoghter and I'm using Castrol high mileage 10-30 and noise is gone. 93 subaru loyale. -
What other wheels will fit my Loyale? I know that Pug wheels will fit but is there any others?

All you have to do is take your neg. of the batt for 30 sec. What should happen is that the code goes away after the problem is fixed.

34 is egr. Check the hose that connects to the top. It's common for them to break. I sealed mine up and it worked for a while but if it is the hose best bet is to replace it.

To Buy new or replace the seals, Oil pump?
korrupt66 replied to oregonloyale's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I went with a new one and I paid about $80 and what a diffrence. I sure don't miss my valve nosie. Now I can enjoy my cd player again and not just turn it up not to hear the valves.
