  1. from what ive gathered, you need to lift the engine about 2-3 inches to get to the rear bolts for the oil pan. thats the problem i am having with my rx, it has started to leak from everywhere lately. i need to get new oil seals, but i already have my oil pan gasket waiting to go in the car. good luck fixing your leak.
  2. thanks for the corection, i knew it started with the letter "i" but couldnt quite remember.
  3. last i checked, the baja is built on the legacy platform and everything on the legacy platform is made in idaho or something like that. i might be off on that, feel free to correct me if im wrong.
  4. i only want rwd cause i think it would be fun to play with, that and i really dont like fwd. besides, my rx doesnt have the diff locks or full tim 4wd, it had true dual range 4wd. i want to be able to play around with the car in dry weather with out geting drive line binding.
  5. im wondering if its possible to set up the tranny so that 2wd is the rear wheels instead of the fronts. that would be sweet in the rx. imagine being able to put the rear limited slip to use on dry pavement and not breaking stuff, then when the conditions get bad or you hit gravels or off road, you could still go ito 4wd hi and low. kinda like a truck but in fast car form. any one ever look into anything like this??
  6. oh yeah, the reason they arent suposed to put in more than 10-15% is that it gets into the environment and it also tends to eat seals and fuel lines or something like that. i think the stuff they use that effects the environ ment if they use too much is called mmt. or something like that.
  7. i am originally from va beach, but im in frederick maryland now, which would be on your way to carlisle.
  8. i wish i could go this year, i got no money, so i cant make it. i am going off to cry now.
  9. sweet deal. i got my rx for free, granted, it didnt have an engine or wiring harness.
  10. i could dig a mr justy, imagine how fast it would be with a wrx engine. bet it would handle like it is on rails too.
  11. yup, its still there and still for sale. im not sure what he is asking for it though. send me a pm if you want me to persue this for you. peace tim
  12. sounds like what happened to my rx when the plenum came loose, but then i also blew a piston ring. i think the ring went later though. make sure all the connections are good. also, when it crapps out, does it sound lie a blow off valve or a whooshing sound? if so, its most likely a intake component after the turbo.
  13. i think that i guy i know is selling his justy. ill drive by and see if its still there today, if i can.
  14. thanks for clearing that up. now, if only i had the money to even think about getting the rx back on the road.
  15. how bad do you think the 272 camswill make the car run in street use? what improvements come from the 262 cams? im looking into these and need as much info as i can get.
  16. nice, gotta love bronze rims on a rx. i gotta find pics of my rx with my 15" pugs that are painted bronze.
  17. i had a freind when i was in school that had a 2.5rs that was putting down like 250hp at the wheels with out forced induction. but the engine was no where near stock. i think it was bored and stroked, as well as better cams, exhaust, intake, port an polish, and anything alse one could do to a n/a engine to make power. it was definatly a fast car though.
  18. i know there are a few junk yards around central maryland tha t have the older subies that still have nice fenders on em.
  19. i was diggin the 205/45/15 nitto nt450 tires on the pugs on my rx when it was drivable. never had issues with rubbing and they gripped great, gravel and street.
  20. thats the usual code that comes up on my impreza. i just clear it and keep driving. it only pops up in severe bad weather for some reason.i know the cat isnt dead on the car cause when i ran a gas analizer, it was putting out clean air, well, at least cleaner than the air in the shop i was in. i am thinking that hte o2 sensor geeks out in heavy rains, at least on my car.
  21. try hitting the top of the bolt with a hammer to help break it loose. it sometimes helps when they are corroded on. think of it like tapping the lid of a jar when you cant get it open. almost the same thing, just not.
