  1. howdy, welcoe to the forum. keep an eye on that accel coil, ive hard they casue a lot of trouble.
  2. ?HUH?? i have adelphia cable, they suck and we got no speed channel. i want speed channel so bad.. but i do plan on clar coating overthe black, just gotta find the right paint.
  3. im all for the rattle can paint job. im diggin the flat black like the sti in the tuner mag.
  4. i know the rears are longer from the ra82 and th mounts are wider, at least i do from reading posts from people asking about the sizing. i need to get all the parts together and get me a brat before i make any judgments on this.... i know im one of only a few trying to atually make a street/ rally style monster outta a brat, im not trying to lift the one i get, i want it to handle and go fast. but that always brings up a good quote. " speed cost money, how fast you want to go?" it aint going to be cheap or easy, but ill have a 4wd turbo beast that i can violate hondas and visit homedepot with. i hope
  5. yup, your outta your everlovin mind will, but we still love you. just keep thinking up new tricks. you are always ahead of the trends.
  6. when i get a brat, i actually want to convert it to use ea82 coil overs in the rear, and with the normal ride hight. im sure ill need to fab up a bracket for that. but for like, maybe, gl-10 rear struts, do i have to use the rear hub from those as well, or do they bolt up to the brat trailing arms? i havent done any suspension work on subies from the 80"s yet and will need to know what ill be gettin my self into. this is all just "IF" i get a brat. ill also be converting it into a ea82 mpfi turbo woth a 5 spd d/r and rear lsd:grin: , if i get the one i want.
  7. dont doubt the will, he might be a bit, well, crazy, but his ideas are usually functional to put it best. my only concern would be the width of the rims. 13" is huge, is the rack strong enough to turn that?
  8. my friend that works at the dealer said soemthing to he tune of that meaning that the cats are bad, he said that the o2 sensors dont usually go bad. my y2k impreza pops the cat below threshhold code avery few months, i bought a scanner and just clear it. usually when the light is flashing, it means that there is iminant danger to the engine, like a dead misfire, or excessive knock, ect.... good luck.
  9. i used the duplicolor wheel paint, looks hot and holds up.
  10. the coil is universal, you can get it for like $35 at advance auto parts.
  11. dude?!?, how far is that from frederick, md?? $30 for atranny, i want to get another for future use.
  12. didnt gap the plugs, just took em outta my other engine cause they were new and bolted em in on the new one. i made sure they werent smashed or broken, i also checked to see if the were uniform, but i didnt have the gap specs or a gapping tool with me when i put em in.
  13. mine doesnt have a center diff, i have the older style dual range. looks like it has two output shafts, one goes to the output for the drive shaft and the other goes to the front diff. at least thats what the trans diagram looked like when i was studying it a while back. also, doesnt the rx have stiffer suspension than the gl-10? the way i think of the rx vs. the gl-10 is like looking at he wrx vs. the sti. might be slightly exagerated but thats just how i think of it.
  14. you might be able to get a rubber elbow from home depot that would fit your needs, just look in the plumbing section, i made an entire intake outta parts i got there.
  15. the rx doesnt have tortion bars, it has coil overs all around, and four wheel disk brakes, turbo, rear limited slipp diff, 3.7 final drive ratio, folding rear seats in mine, it also has a rear swaybar. i might have left some off though, correct me if i slipped.
  16. i have a blaster II coil now, it was great. made a noticeable improvement and the engine ran smoother
  17. use a 90* silicone intake hose for hte throttle body connection and then get a reducer from home depot. you could also just use ashort pvc peice to connect the elbow and the reducer. i havent had any issues with my home depot intake.
  18. yeah the screw in the bottom of the column is what was causing mine to freak out, just removed it and the problem went away.
  19. found a guy that wants to sell his loyale, just found out its a sedan though. but it looks to be in great condition. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=254574#post254574 there is the link to his thread, until this morning, i though he had a wagon, but turns out its a sedan, but looks cherry. if i find any nice wagons, ikll let you know.
  20. that happened to me when i was getting on the hiway, not the most fun ive had.
  21. hopefully, i will have a brat by then. if i do, i will so be there with it. i cant wait.
  22. shadow, you are absolutly amazing. once again, i get new ideas everytime i see this thread, especially when shadow is posting. i need ms and edis. i want em soo bad now.
  23. after the cat, the o2 sensor would be worthless to the ecu for tuning the air/ fuel ratio, the only reason they put sensors behind the cats on newer cars is for emissions control, basically to make sure that the cats are working, not to control the engine.
