I started my custom grill....teaser pics
subyrally replied to subaru_styles's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
you should do it like the jdm sti and such, and have it so hat the only thing on the grill is the model emblem off to the drivers side of the grill.that looks sweet.cant wait to see the finished product. -
most kids out there think that subaru is from austrailia and the first model was the outback. thank you paul hogan, or should i say, thanks Dundee.ive had to explain that subaru is a japaneese company that dates back to the very begining of the 1900's.

Look What I got Today!! I am so Proud Now
subyrally replied to Bucky92's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
its funny, everythimg i drove my impreza to the stealership, a salesman would come up and try to sell me a ford. i hate dealers that sell more than one brand and think i give a rat about ford. -

any ideas about my hi-beam switch?
subyrally replied to subyrally's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
well, the switch crapped out again. gunna go see if my friend's dad can take a look at it. but the rx is on the road now im happy -
try wiggling the hazzard switch and the turn signal lever when you are testing, the wiggle test can help find stuffs.

any ideas about my hi-beam switch?
subyrally replied to subyrally's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
well, i think that i found a benefit to going to lti. i managed to fix the switch last night, tested it tonight, works great. -
the hi-beam switch is in neutral position, but both filaments on the bulbs are lit, hi and lo at the same time. and when that happens, it tries to burn the fusable link for the lights. any one know of a fix for this or happen to have an extra 86 hi beam switch? i really want to get this car on the road this week if at all possible. thanks tim c.

will, you forgot that the 22b is also fully seam welded. -
im thinking that you can pull off the fans. instead of trying to put the fmic behind the radiator, i think youd get too much heat from the radiator. you could possible move the radiator back a little bit, about an inch. then mount the ic in front of the radiator. then if there is enough room between the engine and radiator, install some thin electric fans. if not, then mount two fans in front of the whole thing. then to hide it all, one could possibly retrofit a newer style bumper cover onto the car. im feeling something like the 2000 2.5rs fron bumper.

uuuhhh ooohhhh, i need a towel. that is my dream car, well that and a 57 chevy bel air. id take the 22b over the bel air any day. granted i doubt that id ever be able to afford a reall 22b, i think that my graduation present to myself when i get outta school will be building my 2.5rs into a 22b replica. including the seam welding and all the liitle things that make it special. i think that the only difference mine would have is that i would be using a cf body kit for the wide body fenders. -
it would be a huge improvemnt over a top mount. i want one sooo bad.

Vids of older turbo Subarus?
subyrally replied to mschafe's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
i had a vid of a guy rallying in his back yard in what looks to be an older hatchback or wagon, the only problem is that at the end, he kinda launches off of the side of a turn, falls down a large hill into the sholder of the expressway below. -
I don't need no stinking TWE header!!!!
subyrally replied to garner's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
thanks to the efforts of snotrocket and a few others, the rx is running and will hopefully be on the road in the next couple of weeks now that i have a job. at the moment i need to run a heavy duty injector and fuel claener throught the system and a few other little things, as well as get all the junk outta the car, its filledwith parts, tools, trash and possibly animals. i am really trying harder to get it on the road now that i have a job and my impreza is starting to gripe at me.granted some of that is my fault. -

thats messed up, i know auto schools are gennerally worthless, at least lincoln tech is, but they wouldnt make mistakes like that. i say that you should get a subaru posse and get them to get the vehical fixerized. if i wasnt so far away, id lend a hand. good luck tim -
you could always donate it to me. i wanted a brat sooo bad, but i couldnt find one so i restored my rx.i really want to drop the rx engine and drive train in a brat.
