anyone know what the difference in flow rates are between the ea82t and ej22 injectors. i am thinking of trying for some legacy injectors for my rx when i add the bigger turbo and intercooler. i am hoping to get the APEXi s-afc for the rx. i have been told that the injectors should fit the manifold and fuel rails from the ea82. im pretty sure that the ej22 injectors flow better than the ea82 injectors.

thats hot. i am thinking of fabing up something like that but a bit more aero dynamic for the rx. i mainly want it incase of any more bambi encounters. just imaging railing a deer at highway speed with a reinforced push bar. . i would hate to clean that up. -
i did something like that, but i was in front wheel drive with the hillholder stuck . nice left wheel burn out all the way up the driveway. and i showed up my neighbors with their beater corollas in a reving contest.

lightning show at spark plugs
subyrally replied to baccaruda's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
sounds possibly like you may need new plug wires. possibly worn out boots on em. depending on the last time they were changed, it might not be a bad idea to do it anyway. -
i too am curious about this.

thanks for the info, but you might want to read all the posts before you send in a reply. i am thankful for your insight though, but it turned out to just be a loose connection. -
well, the harnesses are both complete, the bulkhead harness is the original fro the car, 1986. the engine and front end harness are from a 1987 gl-10. there is no splicing except where i acidently cut a wire. funny thing though, the misfire makes the car sound like my impreza with the borla headers i think that ill try to get a battery charger from my friend, maybe i was straining the charging system trying to run on a dead battery. i also need to get a steering whell puller and headlight dimmer switch. im thinking that might fix the lack of low beams problem i am having.

First off, i absolutly have to say thank you to snotrocket, eric, i couldnt have done it without you. and thanks for all that offered advice on what to look for and how to test it. it turned out to be a loose connection in the fuse block. now i need to get it fine tuned, i think its misfiring on #3. not a constant misfire, but its there. that and the black fusable link started smoking when i turned on the headlights, might that have something to do with the fact that i dont have low beams? it looks like both filaments are lit at the same time unless i pull the lever slightly. any ideas?

happy happy happy, joy joy joy its alive!!!!!!!!! thank you so very much snotrocket, you are the greatest. now i just need to figure out why it isnt runnig smoothly, it turned out to only be a loose fuse connection, figures it would be something tiny and simple. i think that the car is having a spiratic misfire on #3, but im not sure as to why, ill try to figure out in the morning. well, unless i end up swapping suspension on the impreza:brow: . thanks for everyong that helped and offered advice. -

well, i think that the guy at the shop i used to work at screwed me when he set the timing on the engine for me. oddly enough, the car ran like that, but i am thinking that something has chenged since to keep it from starting. im at a loss on how that happened when the belts are new, atleast something resembling new. anyone wanna help with timing belts tomarrow morning?? i wanna try to get it started before school. -
and you are already tryig to get rid of it?!? i wouldnt give up my rs fo anything.

well, when i first tried checking the spark, my friend said the spark he saw was blue, hhe thinks. when i had the cap off to make sure the rotor was turning, i saw a multicolor spark jump rom the center contact to one of the contacts for the wires. it was kinda a cross between blue and orange. but that was a huge gap. im thinking that the timing belts arent really the problem since the timing on em hasnt changed since they were put on the car, and it ran like a scalded beast until two months ago. a bit of bad news though, we got a rental car this morning, brace your selves ......... a neon, ewwwwwww.... and i am stuck driving my mom's mercury mistake, i mean mystique. just as bad. just more incentive to get the rx running. -

snot rocket, thanks for the offer, if you come up, ill see about throwing a cookout. id love to see another running rx, ive never seen one that ran other than mine, when it ran. and if anyone wants the history o the car and the work ive done, here you go. the car's history is that it was previosly owned by an old employer, it caught fire about 6 years ago when something got sucked into the engine compartment and lit. it basicall sat for about6 years until i took ownership of it as a rolling shell. i rewired the front end, put in the enginethat was waiting for the car, the engine had brand new heads on it. i had the car running and rather well at that. then when i quit the shop i worked at, i had the car tranported to my house, where i fixed the rust on the car and gotthe engine work done. i drove it up and down the street every few days, just to keep the battery charged. turned out that the alternator i used was toast. replace that and the battery, then the car ran again. then came the day that i drove it up and down the street, then put some fresh gas in it. the next day, i went to start it cause i wanted to make sure the car was ready for inspection, nothing, the fuel pump wasnt priming like it should have when i put the key to the "on" position. i started by checking thevuel pump wiring and ended up rewiring the pump. then i checked the relays, they were still good. then i tryied the other ignition components, i replaces the ignition ciol and plug wires. no change, then i tried replacing the ditsy, found the original problem, the pump primed and everything seemed to wake up, but it still wouldnt start. i thought that maybe the ditsy was 180* off, tried setting the timing again and again, and again and again. i finally had a friend come over to help me, and i think i finnaly got the timing set right, but it still will not start.i checked for spark, check. checked for fuel, pulled out a plug and could smell fesh gas. checked the plugs, looked almost new, justa little bit dark colored from use. checked the fusable links, all intact. tried using starter fliud, nothing but a single "pop". thats where i left off yesterday. woulda done more today, but had a really bad headache. i think that is accurate.
