Idea for a Subie Support Network
subyrally replied to [HTi]Johnson's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
if i had any money at all, i would give a donation, but i am a poor tech school student. any money i get in the next couple of weeks will be going to getting a brat to commute in. most likely will get better milage than my impreza. but if anyone is on the central maryland area and needs a hand or a ride ect.... let me know. just pm me and ill hook you up with a number. my phone is on 24/7 -
Idea for a Subie Support Network

sounds like a good idea, but there arent that many peoples from the boards around me, well, there are a few, but most ar in virginia/ -
what did you have done to your car to turbo it? there is an ongoing arguement at school, my friend says that i wont be able to turbo it with out putting in a new engine. my other friend says that i can run a turbo on the stock block. i know that ill nee to reduce the compression ratio, retard the timing, and get independant fuel management or a wrx ecu, in addition to all the parts, like exhaust manifold, up and down pipes, intercooler, fuel pump and injectors, and finally the turbo. what you think?

i am planning on turboing my rs, i have the 4eat tranny in it. i am fairly sure that the tranny will not be a problem when i go turbo. i have one guy saying that i cant use a tranny from a n/a car in a turbo situation. another guy is telling me that there will be no problems what so ever with the 4eat. i know that it should be able to handle more power than the 5spd manual tranny that is in a wrx. the first guy i talked to is a mitsu guy and the second is as big of a suby fan as me:grin: . is there anyone that has turboed a automatic 2.5rs out there? did you have any tranny problems at all? i am under the impression that the transmission is the same auto that is used in the wrx, so i think that it should work properly.

howdy, i am trying to find the wiring diagram for the gauge cluster harness in a 200 2.5 rs. so far, i have had no luck at all on this, the dealer didnt even have the info for the 2000MY. is there any one out there that can help me out with this, i need to know the in outs so that i can put in a wrx cluster so that i can tell how fast i am going once again. thanks in advance. tim c. btw, i searched every where i could, and i have no money to pay for the subaru online tech page thingy.

im am planning for the 3rd or 10th of july. more than likely at my house now, i dont think t here will be enough of a turn out to get a shelter at the park, although we could always do it picnic style near the hiking trail area. -
i want a brat, soo bad it hurts sometimes
-
wow, wouldnt it be great it the shipping cost would be low, but im thinking that the shipping on the brats would cost more than the purcase price.

i saw a nice looking brat here in frederick today, i almost wrecked my car when i saw it cause i thought it mighta been for sale, but not with my luck. either way, it was in good condition from what i could see. grrrr, i want a brat.

i jacked on outta a car at a junk yard, put into my cone filter on the impreza, no complaints, i kow it improved throttle response and might have helped gas milage. my friend used to work for the government, he said the every one of their vans and jeeps had one of those turbo tornado things in em, they really help with v8's from what i understand.

Air intake done, mostly!
subyrally replied to Toyofast's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
you could always put a scoop over your filter on the hood, cut a hole under the scoop. then make a heat shroud around the filter in the engine compartment. -
what about the throttle boby mod where you bypass the coolant liine that run through it. that should take off quite a bit of heat from the air going into the manifold. has anyone here tried this, or is this just on the newer subies? hmmm, maybe i should get off my lazy *** and go look at my rx. but has anyone tried this?

Brats at Harry's U-Pull-It
subyrally replied to DPDISXR4Ti's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
im gunna go to the junk yard i like up in hagerstown md. in the morning, last time i was there there were three brats hidden in the crowd. i am gunna go see what level of decay they are in. if one is in good enuff condition, i might see about buying it if i can get money. -
ive found a few people with brats that thaey are willing to part with, but first i need to A, get rid of my rx to pay for the brat and to make room, amd B. find a way to transports the vehicles to where ever. thats my problem at the moment, i could prolly get one right now if i had a way to transport my rx to the guy and then bring back the brat. but i cant afford the gas even to got to and from the destination. subarubrat prolly knows what im talking about.

i still need to get ahold of a brat and then some how, get ahold of money to get a kit. on that note, are there any good suspension lift kits out there? or should i go witrh a body lift, i want to run 15" pugs with light truck tires that are good on and off road and arent too heavy
