Worse / Best / Stupidest Wrench Turning Mistake!
rpholz replied to Sonicfrog's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
not my worst, will have to ponder about this for a day, but definatly most painfull and recent. so i was changing a tire on a 20' rim with a 35 series tire and when i went to use the phnematic pusher arm thingy i moved it down rotate the tire a bit, still holding the rim and talking at the same time, i get my fingers mashed between the edge of the rim and the arm thingy, and i cant move it because the tire had to much pressure on it and i was in too much shock to reverse the rim:eek:, well after a couple seconds the guy i was talking to reversed it for me. bout twenty more minutes of cursing and running in circles i was back to work. lol -
hmm. well i clicked the unit converter on their website and it was preset at UK pounds to US dollars. o well. shows how much i pay attention.

i think those rims are 185 pounds so that makes them like 299 US dollars a piece. but i could be wrong

need wheels for my subby
rpholz replied to mudgoat1983's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I believe you are looking for the "stuff wanted" section. now if you were asking how to remove and mount your new wheels you would be in the right section:-p -
so spray some carb cleaner down the throttle body and see if it turns over. are you positive its fuel and not spark related?

Thinkin about selling the old boy
rpholz replied to The Dude Abides's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
dude, i am sorry to hear of all the troubles with the sube, i totaly understand that, i considered selling my xt not too long ago, you just gotta way the pros and cons of your decision. caprices definatly will keep chugging along and chevy parts are redicusly cheap and available. i've owned a monte carlo and z/28 myself, i know chevys in and out but i gotta say with that car expect tie rods ball joints, etc etc. not to mention the gas milage. it's all up to you man, but make sure your making the right choice. good luck man -Ryan -
super clean car but i'd have to agree with everyone on the gutless boring part, i picked up my xt for about 300 bucks and havent had many issues at all. and is pretty clean shape, the problem is you are looking at a dealership car, look for private party. plus you once you get it you gotta think about timing belts, tensioners, this knocking issue. and it probly leaks oil like every other ea82. i'd say if you want a suby look elsewhere, they'll kill you in dealer fees and such.

looking now lol. yea my girlfriend picked me up Evangelion 1.0 for christmas (shes easy to crack) and im beyond excited. PLUS i just picked up the complete platnium series for 40 bucks:banana::banana: Eva FTW! -
the steering was locked? why didn't you just knock out the tie rod ends and made life 200% easier on yourself? my suggestion. organization. wait for your bearing then swap. you are getting ahead of yourself, and well... your being dumb to be blunt.

clean it, it's free and makes you feel like you have a new car. -
seeing how every car is a twelve volt system you might want to test your alternator as it should be pumping out 14 volts.
