I think I need to clean out my IAC the stuff on Monday morning must of left it dirty (never got to clean it a few months ago) I know I need a new gasket seal for it (Anyone have the part #?) I have some air cleaner spray so where about do I spray it? The one with the fat tube that goes to the air box and where else?

Hi sorry for the bumping of this thread but I'm in the same boat here It seems like my pan is leaking I can't tell if it's where the dipstick goes in or the rear of the pan.. Also at the same time I plan on replacing my headers as they too are rusty and it cracked at one of the collectors so it's a little loud when driving. However my studs are a little rusty but I don't know if I will have an issue.. I don't own any air tools and if I have to is a electric impact good enough to remove the bolts from the studs?

I remember you said you had to do your wheel bearings after all of you went to NJ to off road? I think it was more then one person who had to change them on the cars. I take it mud = failed wheel bearing? Also the interesting thing out of all of this is it seems like it takes around 6-10 start up's and driving and after that the ECU seems to have enough info

That is true.. This is one car I can say I enjoy working on as long as it's not water getting in the car. I plan on replacing the seats at a later date.. as far as mildew smell I can only detect a little where the ECU sits I took the jute padding off it and it's hanging up because the owners before me spilled paint on it that so it's harder to dry.

yeah I was a little scared.. each time I would try to get a code i'd get something else that was complety bogus.. like something that wont start the car like the Crank postion sensor. It seems like the only possible thing I lost is my XM direct box which was under the passenger seat which got wet. The word is still out on the ABS module I doubt the carpet will be dry by Friday if so I will reinstall. but thanks Rooster2 on checking the comprehensive insurance.. I swore when i took out a policy on this car I got it (I wanted full glass) I happen to check and I had none :-/ so I got it now.

Nope it's a manual took FOREVER to find one that was not a Auto.. I brought the car for $400 lol I've gone about 15,000 miles since I got it in March. I'd say I got a pretty good deal.. I might be pulling the engine during the winter and the trans because the rear housing has a little leak (not flood related) and I want to replace my Throw out bearing because it seems like the last owner just replaced the clutch and not the bearing and it drives me nuts hearing it rattle. I hope to make the meet I've yet to get really dirty only took the car offroad a few times in N.C. in some pretty soft somewhat deep sand, did better then I thought.

Haha I remember that picture in one of the other threads from here. ECU is still fine.. it still knows where my rev limit is at. one funny thing.. and I don't know if water mixed in or what.. but the day before the little flood on level ground I could move just using 1500 rpms but I took the car to work today 16 one way 24mi RT clutch engagement was so erratic it was driving me nuts.. so to be safe I changed my rear and front oil and it's nice and buttery smooth again.. Was it just me or perhaps the water? The ABS module i took out and took apart and it's drying like the ECU it had moisture on the pins but none on the PCB. I tested a few things in circuit they seem to be ok but I won't know for sure until I plug it back in the car. I think it fried my XM tuner I left it under the passenger seat so it would be easy to get to.

I did not see it but I sprayed it on it and i turned on my dehumidifier in which is in the same room the carpet is in. Good thing I did pull up the carpet (first time) that jute padding padding was pretty much dripping like crazy pulling it up. On the other side one of the past owner spilled off white pain in the car and got in under the jute padding.. Also I found about $3.00 worth in change in the car between the seats and all. I have the ABS module open right now.. as was the ECU it's damp as well but looks like no harm was done.. but I will test it with the meter.

I understand where you are coming from it's just that the bolts that mount on the drive shaft tunnel they are rusted out due to old age (snapped one about 3 months ago) I had to get creative with the drivers side by using the scissor jack and a wrench to hold the bolt so it would not spin around and remove it from inside the car. I did get the driver's side out.. carpet in the rear is ready to be pulled just gotta figure out how to get the drivers seat out since I have all but that snapped bolt out.. If need to I can just cut it off. I had planned to replace the seats anyways but not right away. IS air drying in the house ok? Since I would have some free time I should be able to hand dry as well.
