  1. I would assume constant power so the power does not drop out during the engine cranking?
  2. Which of the spots on the fuse panel has power when the key is switched to the on position? I may not be looking at it right but it seems like the door like timer has contestant power? I'm trying not to have a gauge start twice.
  3. I almost always look at my dash when I'm driving.. I guess it's old habits, I know where the temp sits when it's level Just between the little water and F on the temp picture, like the others said having no heat is a dead giveaway, and if it was during the early summer like me 2 years ago turning on the AC makes it overheat that much quicker because of the condenser in the front of the radiator. Btw the factory Oil pressure light only comes on when it's 2.1 PSI or less.. by that time the damage has been done, since I just lost my Ej25 not too long ago due to low oil pressure, I'm installing a oil pressure gauge.
  4. Yeah ugh I drive a ups driver and those trucks get stuck so easy.. and the crazy thing is as long as the highways are open you are expected to be at work... a lot of the people I delivered to today all were saying how they did not expect us to be out today.. I do miss my baby lol I see it everyday when I park in my spot, when it's done it's going to be worth the wait I just get so tired when I get home I have almost no energy left to do anything... I still have the intake manifold sitting on the floor waiting for me to take apart so I can clean it.
  5. lol I'm almost in the same boat, I'm driving a taurus and anything like a snow slick road is enough to send this car sliding.. I've made myself very spoiled with my Subaru I'm in a bit of a rush now to get it up and running.. we are getting like 4-6 inches today. I still have to do the swap, I'm just left with swapping heads over to the Ej22 and powder coating the intake manifold as I'm taking the car a different route over the summer
  6. As in above center of the hazard switch, thinking about cutting a square hole for a dash pod but I'm not sure if it's just going to be a empty space or the support for the dash.
  7. man its cold out today... trying to pull off the intake manifold off the ej25 and bring it inside to prep to paint it, one of the brackets on the passenger side that goes to the plenum came off I ended up giving a friend the rest of my vaccum hose and I went to move a line I did not bother to change and it snapped.. Tonight a low of 15F
  8. I was waiting for this! I had to get a M10 1.25 die a single die cost me almost $30 it's a split die which is what I needed Almost time to get back on the road!
  9. Why I'm going to install a LSD in the front but I can deal with a stock LSD in the rear, aftermarket is a little too pricy and too much upkeep for me (clutch discs and LSD fluid)
  10. Does it just make a click sound when you try yo start? If so it's the contacts in the starter, it's like $4 worth of parts, what happen is inside the starter is a plunger that moves back and hits those copper contacts, when they wear it no longer makes contact. I replaced mine in like 20 min.
  11. Checked this morning at the RTV is a lot stiffer this morning after getting some freezing rain and snow, and yes I used RTV sparingly I know all about it blocking oil passages, my older sender is 1/8" NPT so it wont fit in the stock oil pressure spot, I'm going to use the oil gallery plug on the back of the motor and remote mount the sender. i rather wait a few extra days then having to remove a intake manifold that I just installed with new gaskets.
  12. I wonder why every once in awhile these topics always come up, I would for sure check for vacuum leaks first, better yet get a vacuum gauge, a lot of lines near the throttle body get brittle with age, I replaced my lines early this summer so I wont have to deal with it, during the winter and cold weather it's just a hose waiting to break.
  13. I decided on using the ultra grey RTV, about mid way the friken metal split on the side of the rtv :-/ So I ended up just taking off the nozzle and spreading it on the pan and thinning it out with a razor, pan is on.. had to do a little mod since almost all aftermarket pans don't have the dipstick tube holder angled up high enough so it can go in and still screw the bolt in at the top of the block. Next is the water pump.. No point in taking the heads off now since as of right now since i plan on installing a oil pressure gauge and I forgot about the oil gallery plug and a oil sensor relocation kit I might push the install and pulling the motor by a few days.. I'm super paranoid at oil pressure at first start up more so then normal since I don't know so much of the history of the motor.
  14. I really don't want to go out and by more sealant stuff, if I put it on tonight will it be cured by next Sat?
  15. OK I have a question since I haven't seen any talk about it.. has anyone ever used anaerobic sealant on the oil pan? I've only seen people use RTV, but given that it's in the low 30's it's going to take forever for the RTV to cure.
  16. First I've ever seen that happen.. I've taken mine off a Ej25 at like 230K and it came out just fine.. Oh well, at least I did it now then later.
  17. This is odd.. Not sure to me it seems like the crank sensor is broken, but I tried to remove my crank sensor out of a Ej22 oil pump and it's like I can rotate the sensor but the part that near the crank sprocket it does not move, I'm almost positive that this whole area should be a hole for the sensor? Wow it's not moving.. guess I'm going to have to drill it out or hammer now that I got the top part off.. Jesus.. heat, kroil and hammering it was in pretty good! Man that corrosion was the worst I've ever seen, finally got it out at least.
  18. Old topic but I just took off a oil pump from a Ej22 to measure the rotor clearance and I had two of the screws loose, motor has 192K on it and is a '95 btw pump still checked out perfect.
  19. ^That seems like a fair price for the year and mileage. More fun last night looks like they used a helicoil for the TB tensioner so I guess I have to swap that out from my Ej25
  20. How do you like your prosport gauge? I'm stuck beetween that and a autometer sport comp II oil pressure gauge.. where did you mount yours by the way?
