  1. I know this thread is old but how are the prosport gauges holding on? I'm between the prosport and the Autometer Spot Comp II oil pressure gauges.
  2. After all this I'm seriously thinking about getting an oil pressure gauge, took the oil pump out sitting on my bed at the moment.
  3. Damn plug for the engine block heater rounded out.. My Ej25D has a block heater.. Only thing I can think of is wielding a socket on it and getting it off that way, but then someone said a stay current can wield the bearings of the motor? First I've ever heard of that..
  4. Picked it up today for $4.63 time to see if I can get the crank sprocket off now and check the oil pump
  5. I had something like that happen 3 years ago, I felt a shimmy in the front wheel, and it was summer so I had the window down and going around the curve and I saw my lug nut fly off across the road.. It sheared the lug nut.. It's a pain to get out with the ABS sensor on the hub but I did it.
  6. haha I'm going the other way around with mine using the Cometic Ej22T gaskets Ej25 heads on a Ej22 block.
  7. I already have a dealer front crank seal.. it's odd when I went long time ago like 2 years ago and did the O-ring for the oil pump on the Ej25 they gave me a blue looking seal it looked nothing like what I'm seeing in the picture here.. the seal looks almost like the oil pan return seal. It's been awhile.. Yeah mine looked like this one http://beergarage.com/imgs/Suby/OPump/16.jpg 806919050 PN for the o-ring behind pump
  8. I have a question should I or should I not replace the seals for the cross over pipe for the coolant? Now on myself I've never replaced any and my EJ25 had 265K on it.. I only ask because I heard those bolts that hold the pipe down have a habit of snapping.
  9. ^ My friend I let him use my air compressor, mind you I've had it for 3 years now and he let it tip and it broke the filter as well, so now I have to replace it with a metal one. Now having said that I'm about to pick up the 750Lb engine stand tomrrow so I can start tearing down the EJ22.
  10. Does anyone have the part number for that O-ring? For some reason the opposing forces website will not work using a cellphone or teathered using a laptop as it cuts off all the catagorys of sections..
  11. True, I noticed with the flywheel on a Ej25 maybe because of the mass I've hit that line or a tad under it fully expecting the car to stop but it was still running if you manged to clutch in quick enough, back when I had the EJ22 it would of stalled well before it got to the first line.
  12. I still kept my broken door lock timer but unable to find it right now, I was wondering how did your resistors go missing? Did you unsolder them?
  13. This is the Ej25 I'm not sure oil got anyplace else other then almost on me, if I remember right the injectors wont spray fuel in the cylinders if the coil pack is disconnected right?
  14. Since this engine has been sitting for who knows how long.. when you have the pan off should I squirt a little oil on the bottom end? I'm not sure how long it takes a full dry system to prime with oil
  15. These are the gaskets I use I like them feels just like the felpro. http://www.amazon.com/Magnum-VS25061-MaxDry-Valve-Gasket/dp/B007VYHLAU/ref=au_pf_ss_1?ie=UTF8&Make=Subaru|13&Model=Legacy|64&Year=1997|1997&carId=001&n=15684181&s=automotive
  16. This is the same I'm going to do to a Ej25 Phase I block, has really bad rod knock to the fact the car will not run on it's own, looking forward to doing this. Did you make a tool to get the wrist pins out?
  17. lol, I'm guessing it's because they don't move hardly any of them I have to check a yard when my car is back up and running.
  18. This is not that, this is the switch in the glove compartment box, the switch for the light.
  19. For seeing how small it is I thought it was a bit much, oh well I guess I will have him place the order.
  20. Holy crap I just heard back from the dealer how much that switch costs... $40...
  21. Screws are good, now what about that o-ring on the oil pick-up tube? I can't seem to find a part number?
  22. Got the pan off, the screws are fine, oil pickup had a lot of things stuck on it more so then I've seen in other peoples pictures.. In my replacement pan it comes with a gasket for the oil return but it comes with two smaller gaskets which I can't figure out where they go.. I thought they would of been where the oil pickup goes with those two screws. Does that gasket on the oil pickup tube need to be replaced?
  23. I would assume it's because the compression would be the highest and that's where HG's that are failing tend to fail and blow bubbles.
