  1. Do the engine mounts have a left and right fitment? Or is that just for the mounting plate?
  2. I just don't want to pry and warp it, If I can remember I remember it's kind of thick
  3. Thanks for the tip I will try that, after this anerobic runs out I'm going to get the one that goes in the gun
  4. The metal oil separator plate I put on my EJ25 about 2 years ago.. I used anaerobic sealant.. can you remove the plate without messing up the plate? I'd hate to have to buy another almost $30 plate. While the motor is out I plan on getting new stock motor mounts
  5. I've had a brand new ej22 pan since 2008 still in the box so that's taken care of
  6. SO true about the clutch fork, when I did my transmission I was lucky it came with one because the old one started to get a fine hairline crack that's only going to get bigger.
  7. Are these a Subaru replacement part? If not anyone know the size? I have maybe 3 that need replacing..
  8. It's like a black funny looking bracket? Not much time to play with it today.. maybe in the morning tomorrow.
  9. I will check this out.. it's a auto motor but putting the dohc heads back on.
  10. Ok, i figured the heads made the biggest amount of weight differences.
  11. I have like two sets of head bolts, I picked up what I only thought were going to be 2.5L heads from a guy in PA, but he ended up giving me all new TB covers, 4 new cam sprockets amazing cool guy and nice built up 2.5RS in the garage! Anyways i think I settled on a Ej22 with 196K on it for $275 the other one wanted a exchange but it was marked with 100K on it since I need to tear down the EJ25 block for parts and to learn I'm keeping the block, it would be nice to have the car running today but I don't think I have the energy to do so. I'm hoping the EJ25 shortblock can be carried? I don't recall what the weight was of it, you know if the car wont stay running that bearing(s) must be jacked.
  12. I did all my work so the amount of money I spent was not that much a bit less then $650.. I ended up do a bunch of other stuff as well.. it turned out to be good timing because my clutch was slipping as well.
  13. Trust me man i wiped it down about a year ago later when I pulled the engine again it was in the same spot.. it's no so much the crossmember I care about it's how it's all in the transmission bellhousing that concerns me. I was going to open the transmission up (current one in the car) but one of the bolts snapped that holds the center diff to the transmission.. in that case because I had to move the car I decided not to mess with it further.. I did however buy all brand new seals for the transmission, only seal I ended up using was the one for the driveshaft, next transmission I will be getting I'm going to put a front LSD in so in that case I will be doing all the seals.
  14. Sounds like the classic HG as well.. Mine would go up and down, but as soon as you turned on the AC when it was warm out it would quickly overwhelm the cooling system and overheat. My HG's went on my Ej25 at like 225K I think.. it's amazing how many people deny it's the HG's until they exhausted everything.
  15. The thing is when I took off the clutch to put in a new rear seal which never was the issue (something else) I never saw the leak.. I will know for sure when I put the Ej22 block in I'm going to switch over the metal plate I put on the EJ25
  16. I'm going to see if I can find a picture I took with the motor out, I can't for the life of me figure out where it's coming from.. and it's rather thick too.. it's all on the front crossmember i figure that much it would be all on the clutch but it's never on the clutch or flywheel.. The fact that it happened on a transmission that only had 82K on it
  17. I used this tool to take the valves out on my EJ25D heads it works, getting it out is easy.. block the other side so the valve will stop opening.. getting it back in is not as easy, it take a lot of force get get the keeper to snap into place.. my palm ended up hurting and I took a few 5 min rest. having said that I did all 16 valves and lapped them, I never felt a 256K motor run so smooth.. I got mine from Amazon, just make sure you clean the tool off because of the pattern for the handle will leave you with silver flakes all over you. Sorry about the messy room
