  1. Checked that too Definitely sounds like it's around the rear half of the tranny with the metal sound My understanding is a full empty 5 EAT takes around 10.5 qts? How much does the transmission weight dry? Is it 210 something? I can't seem to find much info at all about it..
  2. The cv axle is solid albeit broken boots but not flopping around or disconnected in any way.
  3. I know both boots ripped.. before it failed.. it would make this speed depended sound when costing off throttle but never on throttle.. or if you went up a hill off throttle it never sounded.. it was like a light tapping sound.. If a CV (inner I suspect) failed how would the CV axle feel?
  4. So today when getting off the highway to make a right turn to get lunch the whole transmission gave up with a large scraping and judder.. I had no forward.. and in park the car still kinda made the sound in reverse I could move a little but then that soon went.. OK so I need a new transmission.. I've pulled 2 5MT's out before not too bad but (not a fan of auto's) I've never did a auto before and all I keep hearing about is the TC and how not to let it slip out and all.. and since I'm going to be dropping the transmission I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about it?
  5. I think the block has about 4-5 around the motor I can't find in the FSM of what torque level they should be nor do I see anything about gaskets? I'm just going to use some anaerobic gasket maker on it and it should be ok?

I'm not sure if moving it a few spaces is going to help the parking is stupid it's kinda like a one way entrance the area I'm at I backed the car in I pushed it with the Tribeca my thing is I don't know if moving it in different spaces will calm them down. I'm at work from 10am to 9pm every day so I can't always check

I need to move my Legacy GT so it wont get towed thinking the car is abandoned.. no one seems to have any space or storage options i was going to send my motor to the machine shop however the dealer don't have the two rods in stock and they will have to overnight them. meanwhile I'm towing on on-road only no pulling or any ditch stuff.. I'm not sure if I should get a tow strap with hooked ends with clips or what
  8. Hey the one thing is you have no way to control the throttle from under the hood with the ETC right? That's the one thing I hated.
  9. So I'm going off a 2005 Legacy GT here but I think the stock injectors are like 550 cc or something like that.. I was wondering is the injector duty cycle and size play a role in it? Like say you switch out the 550's for 850 cc injectors it's going to already flow more then stock or does the IDC play a part in it as well?
  10. I was curious can I use ATF+4 in the power steering reservoir if I can't find the dexron type 3?
  11. Well back from vacation I got my pistons before I left now I just need to save up after spending so much
  12. so pretty much buy the pistons then tell him to bore them to this size and he should be able to get the PTW needed.
  13. Uhmm but what's the difference? if you have 100 mm pistons and he bores to 20 over how is it going to make any difference if he had the pistons before hand or not? Yes I understand the piston expands when up to temp but it seems like it will have to be slightly more then 100 mm?
  14. He said I should be good by boring .20 over so is that 100 mm? From the standard size?
  15. Crap the part I ordered must of been for the 4 Cly and not the 6 the bracket was different so it does not fit.. anyone have the part number for the correct one?
  16. every site I go to says its the exhaust OCV so I ordered the part.
  17. It's about the timing over-Advanced on bank 2 which I think is the drivers side? which would be the exhaust OCV?
