Yeah... too bad you can't get one of those long mirrors that you can see all 3 lanes behind you but then you can't put down the visors that picture above makes me need to go out and find another illumantion control for my Legacy.. I blew it when I had a wire reverse and some magic smoke came out.. which means I can't dim my dash. I don't think it could be in the stalk too but I'd have to check.. I need a drivers side fuel sender.. I got one damn bolt I can't get off so I can check it.

I happen to be looking under the car yesterday while getting ready to cut inside to remove the snapped transmission cross member bolt and I noticed one of those rubber assess panels are missing showing the primed unpainted inside of the car.. a little rust has started but what can I use to cover it back up with?

Got the mirror installed today.. tonight I have to work on the headlights I have to see if I can try to get a rough aim inside the house so I can put them on the car tomorrow and do very little aiming to hit my mark of 26 inches @ 25' That puts the top of the headlight beam just about middle ways of a car's trunk. here is a mirror picture

rearview mirrors with Compass and temperature sensors

Mirror is up! I was going to put the temp sensor it in-front of the condenser but too scared the drill bit was going to hit it, so I ended up putting it in a pre-drilled hole.. it wont go anyplace since it has that lock tab. I'm going to drive to the school if it's free to calibrate the compass and enjoy my new mirror Glad the rain held off but sounds like it's going to get nasty later this evening. *edit wow the mirror fell off :-/ -
I just put a fram air filter in my car yesterday It's about the only one that fits a 2nd gen legacy with out fighting with the filter cover.. The one that was in it was the one with the metal sides.. you know the one that everyone always wants.. The worst filters as far as fitting are the purolator's. I only use purolator for oil filters however.

It's ok I got the right button and when I got home I saw the other one that matches the GM but it was kinda different looking then what I saw in all of the pictures online. As for the the trim I was told I have to remove the seat belt height adjustment and it should come off. What I did not think to pick up (might be too late) I should of picked up a tap from the auto store but I can wait. temp sensor works fine This is the one I got for people that had a hard time trying to find one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0031I9ZJK/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01 -
rearview mirrors with Compass and temperature sensors

The button is up on the glass just waiting on the temp sensor and the plug that goes to it.. I'm going to let it sit overnight before I mount, I had to pick the button up from the GM dealer just because the fit on that Dorman was a little off. As far as you guys putting the cover back over the stock mirror location I take it you used some glue because it's impossible to keep the cover on without the bracket up because it snaps onto the bracket arm. I have glue but I was just making that known. -
Kinda got a late start today but I took off the 2nd cat and put on the one that's been in the house for over a year.. nothing was wrong with the stock one.. I'm keeping it just incase I don't pass emissions with the 2nd one since it's semi-gutted. I put on the resonator now so it's a bit better now but the friken exhaust studs.. the bolts I got at the home depot today are too long I think I picked up 30 mm it's just too long.. So unable to put the new gaskets on because that leak is so loud.. Should be doing the dimming rear view mirror today, I ordered a replacement button from the chevy dealer which should of been in Monday however when I called they said they had a computer problem on Friday. I did a quick test with my retro HID headlights with LED turn signals I have to wrap the wires for the turn signals because I don't want it to rub on any body panels. btw that bosal pipe was for my 2.2 Legacy wagon but for some reason none of the gaskets really fit it right, being cheap I ended up shaving the whole inside of the gasket so it would fit over the pipe.. and that's a dealer gasket... So thinking hmm let me try another and sure enough the new gasket same thing.. It's like the pipe is too thick for any donut gasket.

Calipers are still misplaced so I can't figure out what the bore size is for the calipers in the front for the outback.. I have some brand new calipers I'm going to strip and power coat however the mm number must be a top secret Subaru number End of the week I have to get the pipe for the exhaust bent into shape, I just now noticed I don't know if I have enough powder to shoot 4 calipers.. or let alone 2.. I don't know if I want to use the HF powder because the UV I hear makes it turn chalky looking after exposed to the sun over some set amount of weeks.

rearview mirrors with Compass and temperature sensors

AGGGGH!!! Well I'm very sure I have the right button but you know how the mirror should have a metal plate that the mirror button locks onto? It seems like this one is missing.. To know for sure I'd have to see another Gentex-177 model to be sure but like the button moves about and all which is not good I will get a picture or better yet a video Yeah it for sure is the mount is not "fat" enough to mate with it.. the other mount that came in the pack fits better but hmm.. ended up just ordering a bracket from the chevy dealer which will be here Monday, while the other one fits it does not sit in the groove and I'm not going to rely on compression holding the mirror button in place lol. btw the connector to the temp sensor is a PT248 plug -

Ah cool did not know that.. then I will pick up one tomorrow.. I'm guessing one of those HELP! button's will do then? Mine did not come with the screw to hold the mirror on when mounted but I have a huge bucket of screws so it won't be a problem. -
rearview mirrors with Compass and temperature sensors

I ended up searching the part number on Amazon and the sensor came up (anything they don't have?) So that takes care of the sensor, and I found a plug that will work, still unknown what mirror button fits the closest thing I found was on this site and this picture. -

Anyone know what plug fits into the temp sensor? Will a 880 connector fit with a little cutting? Or maybe an H10 connector? -
I can pretty much use a fuel sender from any wagon from '97 to '99 right? I'm looking on car part and is it just always the passenger side that fails or both? Because they don't list on car-part which side it is.. I get my low fuel light on when the gauge is still pretty much showing full and I'm taking a long trip next month so I gotta get this fix along with a few other things.

My ballasts for the headlights came today the perks for working at UPS delivery at 8:30 AM haha. Don't think I will keep the bulbs I have in it now.. I think the bulb made a bad connection and ended up arcing 23 kV at the ring terminal.. Nevertheless warmup is like 6 seconds I just need to mark and level outside when it stops raining.. A little video tonight!

yeah it's auto dim I just need to find the right button mount first then I will worry about the temp sensor part. It's going to help with those people I encounter on the road going to work in the morning with badly aimed headlights. I forgot to post the video Finally got around to powder coating the front rotor hats tonight so that's all done.
