I did this on a Forester before to change the inner cv boot but I forgot what I need to do to clear the inner part from the splines.. I know I did not have to do all they said in the service manual (anti-roll bar and so on) Oh I think I had to remove both strut bolts if I'm right and making sure I mark the camber before I do.

Weather was good up until like 4 PM Had I had a 100 Ft air hose instead of 25 ft I would of kept going.. I've just gotta get the crossmember for the transmission undone and then do the bolts.. Oh and man you would of never thought.. but wow I see why people want to upgrade the mounts, just turning the driveshaft while the car was in gear you can see the transmission movement. Now the front of the car is a tad higher then the rear so I'm wondering if I should put my support block of wood in the rear or the front or both.. yesterday night I never could get these bolts off so I gave up here I got it from the rear diff That stupid center pipe whoever wielding it finally fell off as soon as I went to drop the pipe from the transmission support bracket. T-storm so went to blast my wiper arms.. I painted them before but this time they are getting powder coated cleaned up with alum. oxide. lol I know you all are going to be like WHY? But cleaned the case of the tranny.. When I get the VIN number I wonder if anyone has a carfax they can run I'm just curious of what happen to the car.

bah this sucks.. Subarupartsforyou tells me they can't add Extra-S to the special order because it's classified has hazardous from my deal old job UPS.. So they can't add it.. Sucks I guess I will just have to order it from Subaruparts.com and pay the $50 or so in shipping.. comes out near $200 or so I'm just using supertech to clean out the tranny then after a few hundred miles put extra-S in.

Anyone know what size the bolt is for the shift linkage? I picked up the spring pin 2 days ago and just as I thought it comes as one piece.. with the replacement transmission I heated it up gave it some kroil and it still would not move, in the end I ended up cutting a little notch down to the shift rod in order to break what seemed to be rust holding it on the rod. hopefully I wont have that hard of a time with the tranny in the car if I have to will I have enough room for a metal saw blade?

This is going to sound like a stupid question but I never tried shifting at the transmission before and it looks and feels different from the shifter, I must be in reverse when moving the shifter rod to the left in the transfer case section you can see which opposing forces labels as the neutral switch (picture 2 in post) moves and I'm unable to move the rod again until I rotate it again to unlock it from the position.. in the effort to not make this sound more confusing I can't figure out how to find all 5 years.. If I just pull it straight out and back in, it seems like it has 3 positions. Turning both driveshafts you can tell it must be in a higher gear because the effort to turn it becomes much greater.

yeah that's all I could find as far as driving at night because of the turtles laying eggs and stuff.
