  1. Everyone is like replace them with new grounds and it helps with the idle I'm not too sure about that one. But what about for car audio?
  2. Uhmm I'm trying to figure out something here i wanted to bench test the stater before I put it back end but what ends do I need to connect to test the stater? nevermind I got it.. had to twist the jump pack clamp to get the bolt and 12v solenoid.
  3. I wonder since I'm doing all this I should do all the grounding points?
  4. lol I'm a pretty thin guy 125 lb.. I just went right under the car without it jacked up right behind the drivers front and used a extension for the socket and that was it lol.
  5. Factory is KYB I remember when I finally took them off my 95 Legacy it was etched in the side of the strut.
  6. Moving a little slow but removed the starter just now in like 5 min (yay subaru!) Anyways I'm just waiting for it to cool since I removed it as soon as I got home expect pictures
  7. Well look what I found I went to the dealer closest to me when I got off work this morning.. the guy was like clueless.. but he could sell me a starter.. So i figured I need to drive to Milford so I will stop at Dan perkins and I know how good the Service department was.. And sure enough the guy was like yeah I think I have some of those.. So he brings out the whole box full of them sorted and picks those out and then the plunger.. I opted out for the plunger since the total would of been $35 and from what I hear not needed.. Just the contacts alone was $11 so not bad. I just don't know when I will get to it right now This Saturday most likely.
  8. crazy question but why would one need a plunger? It's not a wear item like the Contacts is it? I gotta make a note to stop at the dealer after work to ask about the contacts.
  9. I will contact them to find out.. but one question the contacts are for the stater right? and the plunger is what pushes out the stater gear to mesh with the flywheel right? So glad Subaru starters are easy to get to unlike some other cars I've dealt with
  10. I don't see a part number at all for the contacts at the dealers I mean I can ask but I don't think I will get too far.
  11. My car seems to run cooler after I replaced my T-stat with the dealer one normal driving I see 170-190F before it used to be 180-230F I had HG issues back then in which I set a warning alarm to go off when I started to go over 210F but seems a lot more happier now.
  12. people said they ordered from this place http://www.nationsautoelectric.com/densoparts.html but what one do I need?
  13. I know the total weight is 125 Lb but I'm talking about with the transfer case off and about to be split.. seems like no more then like 50-80 Lb?
  14. Car started up fine.. Got to the gas station pumped and when I was done I went to leave and car would not start.. All you heard was a click from the starter.. banged on it a few times and that did not help.. Tried a few more times trying to start and it finally did turn over.. I got home and turned off the car and started it up again and it was fine :-/
  15. well that's not good.. How much does just the case with the gears in weigh in at?
  16. I'm just going to get that tool that braces behind the hub and has the bolt that pushes on the stud I forgot the name of the tool but yeah I'm going to do that. *edit wait can't I use a C-clamp?
