  1. So glad I did not replace the hatch yet and put on the JDM taillights.. Sucks I just not too long ago replaced the ignition switch
  2. Yeah got the info the state trooper while talking to all of us told the other girl she was at fault. as soon as I can I will post the pictures, her car came out far worst then mine but my drivers side has a lot of frame damage.
  3. I got rear ended today around 5:30 pm.. person in the VW was following too close and not paying attention.
  4. I never had to take any screws out, you just press a pin on the side of the switch and it pops out.. it really only took 5 min at that.
  5. Never mind I replaced the switch myself all I needed to do was press the pin on the switch while the key was in ACC and it slid right out.
  6. Anyone? I got the switch in my hand... I've heard two different stories on how to get the switch out.. I need to know the right way
  7. I ordered a replacement switch from the dealer because my keys are getting stuck trying to turn the car off to pull out the keys all I've seen here was talk about the headless security screws but besides those I assume once you take that out the switch comes right out?
  8. So I think the stock gap is .044 for a '97 legacy but I'm using a hybrid motor with a EJ22 block and Ej25D heads.. so since I'm changing my plugs I've had this coil pack here for the longest time and I was wondering what do I gap the plugs to?
  9. Bad news... All that trying to start when I had my issues caused the key to get stuck in the accessory position. . Jiggling it will get it to turn off so I can remove the key but now I guess the ignition switch needs to be changed now
  10. I think the ebay starter kit people praised here I too think I remember the rod on the plunger was too short, I really don't have the time to take the old starter apart to check right now, but the funny part was it got worse and worse until the only way to start it was to push start.. I'd hate to see what would of happened if it was a auto..
  11. The contacts are only 3 months old at that from that ebay seller people kept talking about
  12. Yep it was the starter.. the solenoid just died on it.. I wont be returning it as a core because I want to open it and see what happened, starts up fine now.
  13. Looks to be the starter I checked the voltage going to the coil and it was 12.2v finally had a helper to help.
  14. Just thinking about it I think it might be the relay because I was seeing 13 in but nothing going out assuming the relay labeled is correct I ended up getting my car started.. I had just enough space to push it back and let it roll forward at like 2 mph.. good thing I have a heavy flywheel on.. but I still need to find the root cause of the issue.. I will say I spent about 30 min trying to get it started.. so I bump started the car and I get home the car starts normal :-/ makes no sense to me.
  15. I just checked the red yellow wire to the two blue red wires and I have no voltage at all showing when the relay clicks
  16. And it's not starting again this time the interlock bypass has no effect.. not sure what is causing it but I. Need it fixed before next week regardless if I have to buy a new ign switch or not
  17. I can't see how a push to start switch will look good in a 2nd gen at all.
  18. Ok happen again and I jumped it and it started fine.. plugged it back in and it also started fine..
  19. Ok it was a cheap autozone meter and I checked on my better one and it's fine.
