  1. hmm I was just reading another topic here it seemed like the older EA stuff had stepped flywheels and all the EJ stuff is flat.
  2. I did this on a friend's 02 forester both inner's the passenger side was harder lol I was fighting with the curclip.. however I did not know my channel lock's had a 90 degree tips which would of made it A LOT faster then how I did it.. My friend was going to replace his OEM axle with a aftermarket store brand.. I listened to the people here not to have him do it (was my first time doing an axle) it's not bad at all very easy, it's been about a year now and no problems.
  3. nothing much really.. I got one for my EJ25 for $26 on ebay.. also they fail with the crack because moisture can get in it. I took my old cracked one and put it on my oscilloscope and it still works when I tap on it but it was time for a new one.
  4. purple power is better then simple green? when I take the engine out I plan on giving it a good scrub under and on the sides so I can at least tell if I have any leaks after everything is done.
  5. I think what you saw was the hill holder I used to have a 95 legacy and it's a cable clutch and I've had 2 snapped cables you can rev match to shift.. it's drivable.. to start in first you put the car in 1st and crank until it's moving fast enough that it starts on it's own.
  6. The 2nd part number above is the smaller one, when you replaced the hose did you just replace it with another rubber one? Do they make a steel braided one?
  7. hate to bump this but the speed bleeders do work on the slave cylinder? Mine only sometimes sticks to the floor when the motor gets warm or it's hot outside.. I've gotten so used to driving and pulling it up with my foot while driving I kinda don't give it a 2nd thought.

  9. in my 97 FSM they go as far to say what section of your spark plug socket plus the U joint what size length it should be for easy effort to get the plugs out
  10. ^ what he said.. I had someone replace the clutch without a resurface.. I'm looking at getting a new clutch kit before the flywheel gets screwed up.
  11. man I'm still nervous about putting on this oil pan from a ej22.. brand new aftermarket pan since they say the ej25 pan holds about 1/2qt more so that means I need to check it more often when it's under the full mark? speaking of that I take it the seals that come with it are for the oil pick up?
  12. nice! I just get concerned if I ever need to fold the seats down for cargo.. however I was just going to do a single 10' sub with the amp mounted on it I guess.
  13. I'm I'm sure it will be easy.. speaking of bolts has anyone ever used Koil? having said that it seems like all these timing belt kits all come from CA lol
  14. I remember my IAC was so bad on my 95 I had to take it off (need new replacement gasket) and I used a whole can of carb cleaner on it. my 97 is the same way sometimes I will get around to doing that when I pull the motor.
  15. Ah cool about those misfires it could be anything.. plug wires, coil pack, ignition module.. spark plugs.. exhaust valves..
  16. I think someone said a wobble socket helps too but I will check when I get to that point.. I gotta go out and buy the chain this morning..
  17. yeah I figured someone would like that.. I still can't get over how the H6 looks looks scary to work on lol
