  1. maybe but cameras are picky with anything UV I was thinking more like this.. I just could not think of the name earlier. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminous_paint
  2. Sweet lol still not feeling the uv bulbs.. maybe they look better in person cameras are picky about that color spectrum. I can't wait until I'm done body wise and engine wise so I can put my ham radio gear in my car.. I want one with a remote head but these cars have like no space in the front for the display.. I might velcrow it but I'd have to see. *edit the gauge needles would look cool with some uv reactive coating of some type on it.
  3. I'm trying to talk my mom out of the tribeca I don't have any issues with it but shes looking for cargo room and size.. First of all I know from her last two foresters she never really carried that much.. 2nd is she is like I like a car to be heavy.. and so I said well now your gas mileage goes down.. and living in a state which has the highest gas tax is no fun.. cheapest tribeca I saw was an 06 for like $16K She is freaking out with any 90K+ mileage Subaru she's like all that stuff like on your car will need to be replaced, and I say so will any car with less mileage.
  4. Reading this thread reminds me of the early 90's (cars may still do this) but remember how the cooling fans would still run after being turned off until the car cooled? I know Honda's did that but don't know about others.
  5. That's what I was thinking too.. I wonder if the EPA estimates are with the car loaded up?
  6. Having a discussion right now about which one would be better for long trips as far as fuel goes.. So which one wins out? I'm pretty sure it would be the forester XT
  7. So it's doable in a sedan then? I still have my coupon for $100 off
  8. Well #^%$ my motor is overheating now while at speed on the highway (first time in 3K) I might have to take a sedan now... Now I've never seen the boxed up one in the store but will it fit in a 95 ford tarus? I was going to buy it first week in July but I'm going to buy it next week. Hopefully they have them in stock
  9. noticed my car is overheating more now.. not sure how a engine lift is going to fit in a sedan if I have to take this other car... Car stumbled after I moved the fluid back over to the radiator would I would guess mean coolant is getting into the cylinders now.
  10. I've been lucky so far no bolts have snapped yet but why risk it? only a few $ in screws.. I need to put a new pan in anyways
  11. Nice I just saw in the body section of the FSM they give measurements of how far the tram tracking gauge should be.. but that tool is too much so a tape measure will have to do.
  12. oxygen sensor? I had a friend last month complain about the same stuff to me.. called me in a panic.. however she had a CEL How about checking out the oxygen sensor? her car was doing the same stuff lack of power when going on hills and she had a misfire on two cylinders (can't remember which at the moment) but after she did her plugs, knock sensor and oxygen sensor she was good to go.
  13. Hah it's true I bet if someone did the statistics on that stuff they would see!
  14. it's just annoying.. I guess this person did lots of left turns and always used the turn signal unlike BMW owners
  15. Only fill it back up to what comes out.. I know it sounds stupid :-/ When i did my AC system in my 95 legacy the FSM showed how much oil went into each part of the system.. I do remember the evaporator took the most.
  16. I pulled the headlight out today to see a bit more How it should be... gap with the support
  17. No because you wont have room put the car in 5th. and it's best to hook the spring on the far side then hook it on the washer. took me like 5 times before i got it to hook... it's a pretty stiff spring so if it pops off make sure you can find it!
  18. It's doable.. it's better for space if you have the shifter in 5th gear.. I know I thought it was impossible too.. Lucky for me I will be getting a new transmission in July so I can have everything on the ground to look at.
  19. It's not going to help that much with slop in gear.. you need a new shifter knuckle it's the one with the 2 roll pins in it.. about a $60 part if I recall..
  20. Ah I see.. well I was going to ask about slim fans but a person who tried them said they pushed no harder then stock.
