  1. my last legacy I had a hard time getting mine out.. I had no clue that you were not suppose to pry on the area to get them out and I started to see cracks in the metal :-/ I had a pickle fork and I still had issues with it.. but the next time I do it I will be a bit more careful. Going to try and install this maybe this weekend...
  2. what is involved in cleaning them is it about how like this site says? http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/calipers.html
  3. So what should I do? replace the piston and the other parts that go along with it or the caliper?
  4. Put the stuff on yesterday day nice it centers its self when not in gear and it no longer pops out of 2nd when driving around slow off throttle. still floppy when shifting because of the linkage but I'm waiting for vaction next month for the heavy duty stuff Going to try to do both back to back engine pull/transmission replacement.
  5. I tried to check but I don't think I saw a part number for this. anyways I'm missing one
  6. lol for me when i took out the seat the bolt behind the seat the welded nut under the car came off. I wanted to put wrx seats in mine but heh
  7. Not really trying today I decided to put a screwdriver in one of the holes of the radiator support and I think I know where I need to pull forward at.. the bracket behind the light next to the radiator. I put my finger on it, it's more pushed in then the drivers side.
  8. Stuff I did today.. lubed all caliper sliding pins.. rotated tires.. bent some steel bar.. and put on the washer and spring for my shift linkage.
  9. It's on the caliper side They are cheap rump roast pads I'm dumping them when I do the pads and rotors and I guess piston replacement followed by bleeding the system out.
  10. I had to stop home to get the c-clamp but the pictures from my phone are uploading now.. I don't understand what you mean by "pin" all calipers use a sliding pin.. the pistons you push back in when you have new pads.. and don't make a mistake of pumping the brakes unless you are rebuilding them..
  11. Looking at the pad now.. yep one sided wear.. however I can't really tel.. when I removed the pins they kinda slide out kind of easy.. the pistons look pretty tired.. and lucky for me I forgot to bring the C-clamp...
  12. damn haha that picture is epic!
  13. Stupid question but when I had an automatic 95 impreza FWD All my forward gears worked but reverse.. I remember before it went all the way out it would slip more and more. Are you saying it was never adjustable?
  14. yep that's why I decided to make them yellow.. they worked out very good when I hit that 5 miles of heavy fog in the poconos in PA.
  15. LOL omg I would have never expected so many people look at my fogs when driving and more so at dusk when I'm driving around.. I love them! My mom says it looks distracting but they really do good.
  16. LOL this auto repair shop has had this white legacy outback sitting out near the street for at least 3 years that I can think of.. I was always like I'm going to go take that grill too bad it's an auto... I was going to make offers..
  17. If you find one let me know.. I checked last night and the 2000 outbacks they are slightly larger too.
  18. If you do that's cool I was going to repaint the stars black background with yellow stars
  19. Are they about 3/8" in width? does that sound about right?
  20. Got a replacement grill yesterday for my outback but I cracked the subaru logo that sticks in the middle trying to remove it ($35 dealer part ) Anyways This is what I did.. I painted it flat black and giving it a glossy clear I'm about to check how it will look on the car.
