With 189K on the motor, she is looking for another motor for less miles now I've told her she would be better off sticking with what she has (providing it was not crazy overheated) then trying to switch motors.. Since she has a '95 ECU I forgot what options she has engine wise? I'm pretty sure she has to stay Phase I for the motor.. She moved to TN awhile ago from CT so I guess it's not that easy to find stuff. And she thinks 189K is high mileage for a motor I will link her to this thread.

So bear with me.. OK a lady who has a '99 Legacy SUS sedan had what she thought was the timing belt done.. I got contacted because the car runs rough now.. I check under the belt cover and noticed the timing belt was NOT changed and just the idlers and pulleys changed and the old belt put back on.. Timing was about 4 teeth off on both sides.. OK so I go in and put the belt on and line up all the marks.. I noticed the drivers head as some valve ticking which I suspect the other guy rotated both cams in the same direction.. So after getting the car started the idle was pretty high like 1500K and ended up going normal or so.. but clearing the code later had it come back up as a pending code.. So now upon starting the car again the idle was bouncing from 1500 to 2K every 3 seconds or so non stop.. I assume it's the IAC that needs to be cleaned.. but get this the guy used RTV to seal the intake manifold.. Now I have the code for the knock sensor and P0507 which is about the idle too high, I assume the rough idle (when it does idle) is due to the knock sensor? I already ordered the sensor but I was just curious.. and crap I just forgot I have a brand new spare in a padded envelope.

Yeah drilling a hole for the wing is something I don't want to do since I don't want to be off or anything like that.

Nope but going to replace the hatch and hood before I paint the car so I will be finding one with a wing.

Nothing to report, I think I'm going to take my vacation again this year like I did last.. save the $1K and buy the first batch of upgrades

Thanks, I love it too but this salt now has been causing havoc on my already rusty body panels... going to have to address those really soon!

ha 60 is nice! Here is the starter repair I took the pistons out of the Ej25, turns out I had a long drill bit.. like 15 inches long and it was 1/4" pins came out real easy. Now I had to order online a 12mm 12 pt thin wall socket because no stores here had one that was thin enough to get to the bolts where the water jackets are.

Found a clean enough spot and took the starter out and replaced everything, now just time to put it back in.

Connecticut we have at least 24 inches total so far. . I have to do it today because I stalled on a hill and was unable to start it again.. because yesterday was so light in traffic I just parked in the middle of a heavy road hit the starter and that was it
