I'm trying to figure out what part it is.. the car had some slight passenger side damage but I can't tell if the passenger side light is not sitting flush with the bumper because of the bumper or something else got pushed back because when I screw the headlight in behind the grill it sits like this.

I drove 654 miles about 2 weeks ago to Detroit and at 60 I was at 3500 but that's because of no 5th.. still got some decent mileage out of it. I might be the only one that likes the transmission in the outback.. in 4th gear I can still pass without having to downshift where when I had my 95 legacy i always found I needed to downshift so much. 4th gear in the outback seems to top out at 105 mph.

The separator plate has been in my utility closet for almost a year since I was going to do that for my 95 Legacy but that's not needed.. the cost is not the issue it's just a hassle I have to go buy an engine lift and stand finding time to get this all done since all my weekends are always tied up photographing weddings or pc repair.. I for sure want to get it done before my vacation in July. The 97 used plastic for the rear plate.. but mine is leaking so I already know what to expect.. I might do the oil pan to due to rust.. still up in the air. I might as well take the oil pump of as well to check the screws.

I was never too keen on those sealant stuff I want to do it right I mean I just did a 1300 mile trip last week and it never overheated so I know I'm working against time but it's not crazy yet.. I wonder about how much do the gaskets go for at the dealer anyways? $60? hmm seems like the list price is $42.95 each

ok this is what happened now that I'm home.. I was driving and I had the A/C on but then I noticed the temp was getting high so I thought oh it's going to drop when I start moving again.. however that was not true.. long story short I had to go pull over.. overflow was full and spilled out a bit.. lower hose was cool and upper was warm.. I open the cap (cap was cool) and the system vented pressure spilling out more coolant. I did not crack the cap the whole way since it was spilling fluid out so I drove it out to a main lot to get it off the small side street and sat for about 30 min. I check under the hood and now the overflow is pretty much all empty and the radiator is low.. I add the overflow to the full line and filled the radiator and i started the car and it was fine the rest of the 10 miles home.. I know I have to do the headgaskets sooner or later but I was trying to time it since I will also be doing the timing belt at the same time and I'd hate to have to do one or the other at a later date.. is it going to be a pain to get the cams off to do the seals with air tools?

Oh man that large washer thing was the only thing from the dealer they had to order from NJ or the SOA plant in Indiana.. He was like you can't just use a normal washer? and I was like no.. I need the spring to hook onto the washer.. I'm not sure how much it's going to help.. centering yes but this is just a stop gap.. I'm not buying the replacement transmission until after I do this wedding too risky if something stupid goes wrong.

A little update.. I was doing some hard runs on the highway and just as I went back to cruising speed and was going off the exit the CEL came on.. So waiting at the long light I pulled out the code reader and I expected the same 3&4 again but nope this time it was just cylinder 4 it's self but no blinking CEL.. A thing to note I just did a 654 mile trip and the light only came on once and that was it.

haha more fun she calls me in a panic.. shes says the car is now running really bad now.. when idling it acts like it wants to shut off.. So i got her to order the damn parts from rockauto instead of locally and I let her use my discount code.. So she ordered the knock sensor and new plugs and oxygen sensor.. I told her whoever installs the oxygen sensor to check the cat to see if it's plugged or not.
