  1. hmm it seems like you really need two ujoints lol.. So I got the one with the one attached to the socket when I noticed it went in so deep. I have two extensions but the right I have are for 1/2" so I was only able to change one so far and i changed the plug for #3 and I looked at it.. I will get a macro picture of it later.. I also changed the plug wires around. when I do adjust my valves the valve cover gasket can be changed as well. Now back to trying to find that spare u-joint lost someplace around the house. I doubt using my breaker bar would be very fun.
  2. man this is crazy I'm going to buy a transmission in a few weeks.. I hope that car parts site is correct on prices.. I've never heard of this site before.. Do they have core charges or something? The prices are all over the place.. in like 5 weeks I'm going to be driving to Michigan.
  3. I did a video yesterday showing how the idle hangs a bit when snapping the throttle. I don't think I ever remember a Ej25 doing this?
  4. timing belt + water pump and all idlers getting replaced next month last known replacement was 66,000.. at least what I saw in the car I was going to do the ebay kit... now with my EJ22 I used a ebay kit and the belt.. but since I have a DOHC now I think I should use a better belt? Dayco perhaps?
  5. this stuff smelled ok but when I got the car it smelled good it's a non smoker I was impressed how good the leather was when I got it.. just a little wear on the side for the driver going in and out but thats it.
  6. I have a spark plug boot puller around here but I can't remember if it was much of any good use for me. I never understood why they can't make the little handle area hard plastic instead of all rubber?
  7. hah its going to be fun indeed.. expected heavy rain later in the day... hopefully it wont be a pain to pull the plug wires like I remember on the forester..
  8. Yeah I wont use Armor all anymore plus I hated the feel and smell of it.
  9. yeah it's been so long I can't remember how I did it I know I have a 3/8" U-joint here just not sure where.. but I have more then enough extensions.. I have the Anti-seize and dielectric grease I always put some where the coil pack is and the spark plug end.
  10. it was still flashing off throttle when I downshifted with no throttle but then stopped as soon as I took my camera out to film it stopped blinking and it did not again after getting it more throttle. I will do the plugs in the morning as soon as I can get a 3/8 Ujoint
  11. I will do the plugs in the morning but I got the misfire code again same stuff I know for sure I must be due for a valve adjustment too.
  12. It was perfect if you ask me.. looks factory! and it's not greasy feeling!! heck I did the steering wheel too and it feels better now turns back to center quicker
  13. Anyone know? is it connected under the hood or someplace under the car? I just want to get an ohm reading.
  14. When I had my 98 Forester 2.5 same EJ25D when I changed the plugs and used platinum and Bosch I would get a misfire from them.. I later swapped them out for the correct kind (still platinum NGK) and it was fine until re traded the car in for an 03 FXS I'm not sure if I'm going to get to the plugs today or not just because it's another trip to the auto store because I don't have a 3/8 U-joint
  15. So I've been reading here about leather care and all and so I picked up lexol cleaner and conditioner, Ok but what about the dash? No one really said anything but how about Meguiar's natural Shine Protectant? Anyone ever use this? I did not get the glossy one of this because the sun bothers me when it reflects off the dash.
  16. I did the water test and no stray sparks so next is left is the plugs.. last time that I know that they were done is 66,000 as someone left all the work done on the car at a subaru dealership.
  17. yep I wrote the numbers down hah that site has been a lifesaver on those odd parts.
  18. i'm looking at the opposedforces site and I see that part with the spring sounds like someone has been around the shifter before.. if that's the case I might as well replace those bushings as well? Might work for direct link http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b11/type_47/manipulation/manual_gear_shift_system/illustration_1/
