Gday, Im new here, so firstly i would like to introduce my self,
Im clonak/Jason. I live in a country called New Zealand(it is NOT part of australia.) and have loved cars all my life. My dad seems to rememeber i was conceived in the back of a car.
I own a 1994 Legacy BD5 RS twin turbo EJ20. I also own a 1983 MK5 Ford Cortina, but thats a different project.
I have owned the legacy for about 6 months now, bought it off a friend moving to australia, for pretty damn cheap ($650NZD) not running, although all it needed was a starter motor.
Since the first day i started it up, is has always had problems up hills, especially when it is cold(to combat this I let it warm up for about 5 mins every time i start it from cold) and after a little while, the check engine light comes on. When the check engine light comes on, it sets a kinda of rev limit at 3250-3500RPM if you try to excelerate fast. If you slowly pick up it goes past with out a problem. I have tried to retrieve the engine codes throught the flashing light, but it flashes 6 long and 6 short.
I know the turbos are a bit flogged, blows oil out the blow off valve, wich doesnt have the pipe to go to the boost tank wich it's supose to.(some one wanted the wanky PSSSSSSSSSST sound.)
Any help would be cool.
Thanks, Jason.
