Awesome, coming along nicely. I've been seeing the usb ports being used more and more lately, seems like a darn good idea. So i have to ask where are you getting them from?

I really hope i don't have any issues with the law using these lights. They are only 55w bulbs. I will be using the two inners as low and all four on as high. I know the bulb its self is they same you can buy for replacement in a Jeep or the like with round style lamps.

Yeah i just pulled the lights off again to put new connectors on them. Here's a shot mocking up the lights.

so i ended up getting the correct ecu for free! I drove my car for the first time in a year and a half! Only about a half mile off road, I have a split cv boot and did not want to sling grease all over the clean engine bay.

So i can get a freeee ecu from a 2000 auto rs or a $90 one for 01 5spd. I think the years will both work but every other person I talk to says the auto will give me some extra cels for no inputs from an auto trans. I like the free price tag though. Thoughts, suggestions?

Bled my brakes the other day, now Im waiting on an ecu which should be here on tuesday. I still need to mount the Hellas and finish wiring them. So close!

aaaaaahhhhhh it was the ecu this whole time. I was given the wrong ecu with my swap, I had a maf ecu (98/99) not a map ecu (2000/2001) with the correct ecu she purrs like a kitten!!! Bleed brakes, mount and wire headlights and call the insurance company!!! Im back on the road!!

I got my Subaru tech buddy coming out on Saturday to see what the heck is going on with my car. If anyone can figure it out he can.

Well its really up in the air as far as dates go. Need to sort out my idle issues and my brothers Forester is getting a new motor. But my Grandma is not feeling well and that sounds like a good excuse to go up to Utah and visit. We will definetly make a good adventure out of it

OK attempting to upload video. It is a bit loud and annoying due to me using my cell phone and it having a crappy mic. Anywho here is what she is doing on idle/start up. It does not get any better when warmed up. And air intake is freaking loud and annoying.

Ugh, still not idling correctly. I need to check the signal from ecu to IACV but dont really know how. I do not have a voltmeter or the sweet skills to know what to check. I would like to get her road ready as we may be heading to Utah (.....Suparu.....) next month instead of Laughlin, NV.

I think the only ones I need to worry about is the 1510 and 1516, those are for the idle air valve deal. Not sure whats going on with it cause I put another one in and still same issue....

Here are the codes I am getting right now. p1510 p1516 p1102 thats all I know

Ahhhh yes its a great feeling knowing that she fired up. The motor seems sound, but got a idle issue. Threw 3 codes that have to do with manufacture set idle, air and fuel settings. It fires right up and hits 1500rpm then down to 200rpm then back up and down....etc. Eventually it dies. Short list to get it road worthy: -front brakelines/bleed -headlights -skid plate -tie rod ends/align Its pretty darn close. But at the same time there is a laundry list of things to do to be trail ready.....it never ends

If you look at where the spare used to go you can see a rusty piece of angle there, this is where I am going to tie in 2 more tubes to triangulate the whole deal. But its been in its current state for a few years.

I was driving my brothers Forester on Friday running around getting parts for the GL when 2 miles from my house the motor let go. Its had a rod knock on start up for some time now. Pulled motor out of Forester sunday morning.....now sits next to GL waiting to be finished also Got a little wiring sorted out for the headlights and other aux lighting. Im going to clean this up and make a weather resistant box for the wiring.

I got my fuel pump in the mail. I had the option to order it with fittings for another $10 but only one of the 2 fittings they were including were correct. Plus they are just brass barb fittings with crush/sealing washers. I think today I will go into town and get the correct fittings. I need to toss my still complete exhaust y pipe on my brothers Foresters to get it to pass smog, once thats done I will cut them up and build my exhaust. Next go round he will need to find a set of cats.

What winch are you looking at that is 6000lb?

Ill have to tell my buddy about those mods. Not sure why that was never mentioned to him before. Glad it all works out in the end :cool:
