Excellent. I have my list of what I need to make and parts to hunt down. Im definetly going to a "A" arm. I am going to keep it a strut but will be making or manipulating another strut. Different knuckles and axles. The rear is easy and I WILL have an air locker back there. I think I moved my front axle centerline forward 1.25'' right off the bat to clear the 30'' tires. I may bring that back to 1.00'' to keep the compound cv angle happier. We'll see, the new cvs will allow more angle too.

Looks great. I have a buddy with a similar setup. Just curious on the MAF post turbo??? My buddy went through 3 motors with that setup until we changed it to pre-turbo.

I had the same issue with my old used broken transmission mounts. And I pretty much did the same as you except I did not leave a gap for some movement. I just bridged it and they are pretty much solid.

Very clean car and great work on the bushings. Curious as to your future suspension plans... Suspension will be the next hurdle on my car once my EJ swap is done and reliable.

Yesterday I tried to mount/adapt one of the 3 fuel pumps I have but nothing worked. A few minutes later I found an externally mounted Walbro 255lph on Amazon and placed my order. That and exhaust then I will be ready to fire her up :D:D:D:D:D

Yeah what Subruise said, I installed the 2001 hvac unit under the dash and it was a bit larger than the 87 unit. Its plug and play with the 01 harness and I really, really want meaning full air conditioning.

Cool, thats expected. I will primarily read speed off of GPS (still need to mount). I have yet to wire the fuel guage but its on the to do list.

Thank you. I have some 1/4 x 1/4 mesh that I will fasten to the .5'' tubes that run down in front of the condensor. I am still going to run the factory grill and little trim piece that goes under the headlights and grill. I am also going to buy a 8000lb winch hopefully sooner than later and build a bumper around that.

I was all ready to paint the new stuff the other day and realized I didnt have a hood latch any more. So I put off the paint a few hours and figured out how to mount the factory latch. It seems to work a little better than before  All painted And a few shots of the engine bay. The intake (free) is temporary til I fashion it into a snorkel.

Good guess on the Hella's, thats what I am going to run. Now why would the speed sensor (still need one) be wrong? 01 harness, 01 sensor, 01 guage cluster
-
Crap, forgot to mention the factory headlights no longer fit due to the larger a/c condensor. Solution to come soon

Welp, I think everything under the hood is done Still not ready to fire because I have to make the exhaust. Other bottom side duties include oil pan skid plate and adapt my old aluminum skid to clear oil pan. I still have to tap the tie rods on the wrx rack for a few more threads. There are still a few other things to do but thats one of those lists that never ends.

Thank you. Its a ton of work. I cant wait to be up and running again.

Temps should be close to 70 today. Im hoping to paint the raw metal on the front of the car and assemble what I can.

Safety wire is the only way to fly. I do that on all of my cars including the rally car. Its cheap, it works and always the right size.

Took some pictures today First is the guage cluster. Its mounted and functional, later I will make some filler pieces to clean it up a bit but right now I just need it mounted. Now onto the super vent plenum. I still need to connect a hose to the far right of the dash, but that vent does not even exist right now. Here is the radiator Lower condensor mount Radiator and condensor together And I made up some power steering lines today. I also re-O-ringed the power steering reservoir.

thats the story of my life

Placed order for some firewall boot/grommets, heater hose and a radiator cap. I also ordered some pre-bent 2.25'' u bends, 2.25'' straight tubing and 1.625'' for mods to the factory exhaust manifold. I will keep the factory cats but relocate them for a touch more clearance. Cat back will be 2.25''

Made some good progress lately. Its dark out so pics will have to wait til tomorrow. -mounted guage cluster -made super plenum/ducting for heater to heater vents in dash -radiator mounting done -a/c condensor mounting done

My brother and I were up in your neck of the woods on 1.1.13. We started in Pioneer Town and ended in Green Valley. Good times!

Of course! But I think Utah and Colorado are a little much for the maiden voyage. We are just going to find a route from my house in Sage to Laughlin NV and maybe Mojave Road. Depending on what exactly we do the Mojave Road will take 2 days and we are going to be in Laughlin for 2 days or so.

Messed with the car a little today. I got the 2001 heater controls mounted in the dash. I am planning on putting 4wd hi and lo indicator lights just above the heater controls. However those are not priority right now.

Yo G Ill shoot you an email or give you a call later. I will be in cell range later. I managed to get most of the interior back together yesterday. I still have to make a bunch of stuff for the dash but the main part of the dash is in and had better stay in. I am sick of pulling that thing in and out. I have everything but 2 or 3 items tied up under the dash and DONE. The only thing I did not put in was the carpet. I pulled the carpet out of a doner car because mine was wasted and some cats pissed on it so I tossed that one too. Hopefully next weekend I can finalize the radiator and a/c condenser mounting. Then I can tidy up a few things and possibly try to fire the motor. Im trying to take a trip across the desert early March, we'll see.... And I promised a pic of the cup holder years ago but dont think I ever came through. Well here it is Hey, it makes me happy.

Trying to get something done today. So far I got the ecu mounted up under the dash. I had to trim the heck out of the glove box but I had to do that anyways with the larger heater core. But the ecu will be easy to access if I need to, I just have to pull off the glove box.

Ill get a quote on shipping.
