  1. Thanks to all. I will check ALL bolts for tightness and torque the axle nuts to 140.
  2. I used aftermarket axles from AUTOZONE. Accelerates smoothly and no more clicking when turning. Just the shakes when braking. I will see if something is not tightened enough. What is the torquing for the axle nuts ?
  3. 1999 Forester. Just replaced the front drive axles and now have a pretty violent vibration when braking, especially over 45 mph. Had to beat the drivers side out to replace it. What could be causing this ?
  4. They did nothing. No blink , click, illumination. ZERO. New battery and all is fine. Alternator putting out over 14 volts.
  5. Battery. Would not turn over this afternoon. Alternator is fine. Seven year old delco battery. I should return it HAHAHA.
  6. Would a low battery make my 1999 Forester turn signals stop working. I have noticed slower cranking and starter seems to drag lately. It is 90 plus here most days. I think battery is about to go.
  7. I have a 1999 Forester that the AC indicator "green Light" on switch stopped working. The AC is still cold but the light does not illuminate when the switch is depressed to turn on the AC. Any ideas.
  8. Car is running well. Just replaced a cracked midpipe on the exhaust and it is so quiet. Just put about 50 miles on it and no issues.
  9. Holy COW. I just checked my clock and both the top and bottom pieces were loose. Tiny parts with 300 on them, on the right side top and bottom. Just heated and added some solder. POW, now clock is working.
  10. FOUND IT. The leak was on the tubing running under the head. I jsut reached up and both the clamps spun by hand. Th eworst pulled off by hand. Two new clamps and no leak. My hands are not made to go into that area. Thanks Guys.
  11. Good info. Leak is dripping from cross member near the oil pan. I have checked the hoses I can see, especailly the ones that connect to the tubing under the head. The fluid is dripping even when the car is parked on ramps, but in park. Seems to drip worse when engine is revved above normal idle.
  12. Car running great after head swap. Just has leak of ATF that is getting on exhaust and burning. Any ideas ? Fluid level seems overfilled.
  13. IS not oil. IS ATF !!! I have checked hoses that run under head, Seem solid. Fluid level in tranny seems very full.
  14. There was already alot of oil in the lower portion of the engine. I hope to degrease ands clean it soon. We did have some drippage as they say. I need to be under there to see what is going on with the exhaust anyway.
  15. Is definitely coming from the engine bay. I will check all the bolts on the valve covers and crawl under it ASAP. So close. It is running great, just smoking really bad after driving.
  16. The 1999 Forester is up and running, Thanks FIXITGUY50. But it seems to have a small amount of burning oil smell each time it is driven. Is this normal ?
  17. Heads went on nicely. Torquing was an ordeal. Hopefully it will be running this weekend.
  18. Heads bolted on just like a dream. Heads fit perfectly. Now the torquing sequence, that was a pain. Hopefully will get it all back together this week. We labelled all the intake and connections so shuld be OK. I will keep you updated.
