Ok Lift is ordered and just bought some BFG mud terrrain T/A km2 tires in 215/75/r15 Getting rims for it tomorrow. In about a week there will be another lifted subaru running around Alaska
-
I assume you removed the roll pin, so heat and pb blaster/deep creep. Its no fun to deal with that, I have a feeling I'm going to be in your shoes when i go to switch in my welded diff:rolleyes:
-
I'm ordering one from thebeastidrive very well made and really you cant make one for much cheaper. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=128310&page=8

looks good!

Thanks! yeah, my car was the only rig that wasn't having problems, they were spinning tires I was just driving along lol I hope you can get your wagon up to speed, they are more than fun with a lift!
-
Been busy with my brothers wagon but, I got my front seats put in, so much better than the WRX seats, my head doesn't touch the headliner anymore!
-
Well I got the spark plugs all sorted and the brakes are fixed too. I chased all the spark plug holes and all is well. It runs amazingly well. I replaced the master cylinder with one I had laying around. Best subaru brakes I have ever felt, no squish, tomorrow I'm going to put new pads and shoes on it and it should be ready for another 100k! Also plans changed, its going to get a 2" lift instead of 4". just because I'm lazy and the 2" is sooo much easier. still going to get the 27" swampers though.
-
yeah I have no idea how it got all the way here from florida, but im glad its here! lol
-
I may have to, it all just depends on whether I can get the spark plugs sorted or not. I'm not against the idea but I'd rather wait till I have to, before I do a motor swap. It actually runs pretty good so hopefully I can get all this crap sorted... I may have to helicoil the plug holes.

My brother has been bugging me to build him a Subaru, so here it is. 85' GL wagon D/R. 205K manual steering. manual everything Those are the only pics I have of it right now, but I will be getting more soon so far I'm about half way through the tune up, but I've run into a few snags. Who ever did the spark plugs last was a M************ r****d and managed to cross thread 2 of the holes, leave one only halfway screwed in and the other appears to be factory original NGK, and its not coming out.:banghead: fun right? On top of that the cap and rotor must have at least 100k on them, the contact button is non existent. How it even ran is beyond me. and the fuel filter weighs about 8oz/ Oh and the brakes are gone. like none. but I have all the parts I should need to fix that. Now onto the good parts, its very rust free, just a little on the rear quarters, the interior is perfect, and it still has the original adjustable struts front and rear. Plans for it are as follows: 4" lift and 27" swampers, and probably tube bumpers. past that I'm not sure. Thats it for now.

Finally got all the parts I've been waiting for. I got the non A/C alternator brackets, for that Leece Neville 140 amp alt and A/C delete, drivers front caliper extra rear diff with all the bushings, Blue GL-10 front seats, a little dirty but in great shape, got the rear headrests and carpet also, All matching, and I got door panel tops for the front, and a window switch for the back. After I clean everything up and put it in my interior will be 100% perfect:headbang: the extra rear diff I have will be welded and after that I'm putting the car into the shop to do the clutch, front caliper, front C/V's, radius rod bushings, rear diff and some painting. Stay tuned, will update with pics as soon as I get the chance.

Clunking noise at low speed turning
AKghandi replied to epix's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
you answered your own question. cv boot. -
you can run 27" tires on a 2" lifted car, there might be a little trimming but noting serious.
-
it was mostly a joke lol i dont think you can run them on a car legally, but the load rating is 1000lbs. the only problem i see with them is the psi they run, which is about half a normal tire. these are dot approved. swampers for subarus! http://www.pureoffroad.com/interco_super_swamper_radial_atv_tires.htm http://www.pureoffroad.com/interco-tsl-bogger-atv-tires.htm http://www.4wheelparts.com/Tires/27x9-50R-14LT-SSR-Radial-Tire.aspx?t_c=13&t_s=158&t_pt=100814&t_pl=3869&t_pn=SSTSSR-02R http://www.4wheelparts.com/Tires/27x9-50R-15LT-SSR-Radial-Tire.aspx?t_c=13&t_s=158&t_pt=100814&t_pl=3869&t_pn=SSTSSR-03R

EA82 T.P.I. has no top end power
AKghandi replied to Hatched's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
No, the MAf itself was clicking, no idea why. the car was running very poorly, it would start just fine, but it had low power, it would bog and stall, it also backfired occasionally, and near the end it would only run for a few seconds. after I replaced just about every sensor on the motor I finally replaced the MAF and it runs smooth as butter now. heres the thread from when i was dealing with this issue.(the videos are not active anymore) http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=129931&page=4 -
EA82 T.P.I. has no top end power

After I cleaned my MAF and it started giving me problems, it would click like crazy. My new MAF does no such thing. -
delta cams makes a torque grind for the ej22

87' GL-10 turbo with 3.9 dual range 2"boss lift 215/75/r15 snow tires. 86 GL 2" lift 29" BFG mud terrain KM2. dual range manual everything basic as basic gets
-
i have an ea82t and i love it, always starts and has more than enough power. you could use the turbo off the ea82t on the rear mount for your ej22 if you want it to spool quick. but if you want it to only spool at full throttle go bigger.

how much was the diff support bushing? if you dont mind me asking. I'm not sure how this car can get any better but I'm sure curious to see what happens next.
