  1. Theres a thread somewhere about fixing the govenor but im on my ipod and it doesnt like the searc function
  2. I had a cheepo ebay boost controller on mine set for 10psi made quite a differnence I put 6k hard boosted red lined miles on it And its still going strong
  3. Im debating putting in the 5mt ive got but i kinda like not having to shift. If i find a d/r though its going in with a quickness.
  4. yeah my 91 3at feels like about 65 hp.. which equals a 0-60 in way too dam long:horse:if someones in front of me on the on ramp going slowly, it takes for ever for me to reach 65. i used to think subaru drivers drove slowly because they wanted to. now i know they didnt have a choice. i wonder what numbers a ea82t would produce.my gl10 it did 0-60 in around 10 seconds.. and i could reach 65 in 2nd.
  5. the temp sensor connector likes to get corroded and brittle being next to the turbo for 20+ years it may not be making a very good connection with the sensor. i had this problem on my gl-10 i had to go find a new connector. also check the intake pipe if its loose or leaking it will cause problem like that. and ruling out the maf might be a good idea. they do crazy things when they go bad.. i also got those codes after i replaced my alternator. disconnect the battery then touch the cable together that should clear the codes. \\ hope this helps!
  6. Do it! You wont be dissapointed. As for the sub and amp i think i figured t out i found an rca dongle from a cheapo stereo that uses common ground so im going to solder it in. Hopefully It works.
  7. I had an xt with this problem so i jammed a pipe in it. Worked great. Normally i wouldnt do that but it knocked and there was no tittle.
  8. Well you could have an aftermarket headunit that has an ipod cable built in or a bluetooth speaker phone. Although i can see your point about the headphone jack. It would be hard to fit it onto the dash with things out both sides. I bet a iphone 3gs would work. BuT i dont have an iphone so i dont know.(i went to buy one and they wanted 600$ from me:eek: and that was just for the service) That being said dont let my results make you think thats the only possibility theres a ton of options for all manner of things, like my crappy slide phone fits in there almost tight enough to be usable.
  9. Is that an iPhone? It might be a lil bit too big.. Mines a gen 4 itouch. You might be able to cut a channel in the bottom for it to fit into.
  10. ok! im done. and it looks like i thought it would the back of the dash pad. i melted a hole through the foam and the plastic then i cut some of the plastic on the back i melted the hole a little bit with a screwdriver i heated up with a torch theres a thin metal reinforcement that i cut away, then i trimmed some of the plastic off and pulled a little foam out how it used to look how it looks now removing the dash. really simple. lots of tight places but with the right tools its not to0 bad. dash pad off(i outlined where the screws go in red.srry its kinda hard to see) all done! now to figure out how to add these to my stock stereo...
  11. So i went ahead and adjusted my dash to make it "look betterer".......and i FUBAR'D it pretty badly.. Looks like crap now. a few teasers: i put a piece of wire in there to try to reinforce it.. didnt work. But! I have another dash pad from my parts car soooo I pulled it and modified it properly and now its going to go into my car. And while i was doing this i took ALOT of pictures so be prepared!(grab a delicious beverage) Im going to put my dash in and get more pics..then ill be back to steal your bandwidth! Should i put this in a write up?.
  12. Mass air flow sensor its the sensor on the airbox. If you unplug it it will go into a default setting so if its bad the miss will dissapear if it isnt it wont When you unplug it the check engine light will come on.
  13. Hmmm what rpm does it miss at? And what engine? If its spfi id say check the intake pipe and the maf.
  14. I just replaced my muffler in my 91loyale with a muffler from a94 loyale Very simple 2 14mm bolts and the hangers. The bolts were rusted pretty good so i cut them off with a sawzall then its just came apart. I bought some new stainless bolts and put it back together Now if you were going aftermarket id recomend having it welded.
  15. Yeah the ipod pops in and out quite easily The music player annoys me, i cant change the song while its horizontal But if its locked and i press the home button 2 times i get the music controls. And i plan on getting a clock app once i get home. Im not sure if a droid will fit but the iphone should.
  16. you could steal my Ipod idea. check my thread i got better pics its very simple, the hardest part was pulling the wires through the dash without ripping anything.
  17. so far i love it! all i need now is a "myfi" so i can use it as a gps i have all my music and when im near wifi i can surf this site the sound quality isnt that great but its the stock stereo+speakers and the fm transmitter has a very high pitch whine. but i think thats normal. its not that bad, its like that mosquito ringtone. and just out of curiosity would it be possible to wire my stock stereo to a bazooka tube? im going to do it anyways but if someone has done it before that would be helpful..the common ground concerns me.. and no im not getting rid of my stock stereo. i like it, all the buttons and knobs are there, the speakers arent blown and it sounds pretty decent. plus i dont have to worry about someone stealing my stereo again..
  18. hmm.. does it get fuel from the filter? if so check the fuel pressure regulator. it might be drowning your car. and being a turbo with lower c/r being flooded will cause it not to start. especially because they run higher fuel pressure and mpfi pull the fuel pump fuse(or unplug the fuel pump) and crank it with it floored till it starts.(for a sec anyways) it may take a few tries. but if it has spark fuel and compression then the only thing wrong is the mix. also try redoing this but with the maf unplugged instead of the fuel pump. when i got my loyale it had a recent new fuel pump. so the next weakest link went bad-->FPR so i swapped it and all is well. Hope you figure it out! and get us some pics of it!
  19. done. ask and ye shall receive! i got a pic of the wires and how i routed them i used a knife to seperate the vinyl from the foam and what it looks like in place the fm transmitter is hidden next to the door chime and it has a usb port so its charging and transmitting! i love how clean it looks. like it was meant to be there. im going to take a fillet knife and shave some of the foam on the inside down,so theres not a bulge there. and another thought. those of you with the obdII swapped gl's could use a portable diagnostic that works with an ipod. http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/car/e915/#tabs
  20. Yeah my clock works intermttently i resolderd it but it didnt make a difference.. So i downloaded a clock app and im going to wire t up to a charger and an fm transmitter.. Problem solved. ill post a pic of it when im done.
  21. my 3at runs about 4k at 65 with stock tires... Yov've been speeding!..lol As for the ea82t they are ok when maintained properly You could rebuild it with spfi pistons to up the c/r throw some delta cams adjustable fpr and injectors from a 83nissan 280z turbo. Then run stock boost and enjoy. Or for roughly the same Price and ammount of work and you can ej it.
