I was playing around with the hole where the clock goes, first i tried taking my gps apart and mounting it in the hole(would've too if wasnt for those damn metaling kids...or was it the fragile circut ribbon.. Anyways. I discoverd my ipod touch fits in the hole PERFECTLY. So i plan on Modifying the dash a little so i can plug it into my stereo when its inplace. And i think an iphone will fit too.. Not sure if this is helpful to anyone, but it should be pretty cool. And with an iphone you would have sat nav and internet.. And angry birds! Now i just need to figure out a way to take a picture of the ipod inplace, with the ipod..

yeah... the hatchie looks solid but its mostly foam and yellow paint...(i didnt do it) the sedan. 92 loyale 5spd. when i got it "swamp donkey" was carved into the hood. at some point it took a little trip down the kenia river(according to the carfax carved on the roof.) and i do mean down the river, it has been submerged a few times. its a beater but with trimming and beating it'll be a good trail rig runs. has a hell of a TOD but seems solid enough.. and it was free.

...OH YES>>> they clear alright. a slight rub at full lock but some more love from the bfh and all should be well. oh and i still need to crank up the front too. yes i know i cut up a hatchie.. but its wayyyyy to rusty to save. so far im 300 into the hatchie. please dont kill me GD.. i think i have an addiction.. my wag, the parts wag, the "swampdonkey", the rumblebeast(hatchie) and far off in the background is the outback i did the motorswap on.

not where i am... no more emissions!!

if i trim the fender rust away and beat the rocker back a little it should clear really well with/out the lift. on the road anyways. ill have to flex it to double check. but the lift is just 2" more ground and tire/body clearance.. so thats going to happen too. and for shiggles im going to mount them on my brothers hatchie and crank it up and trim/beat till they fit well. then when my lift comes im going to take them back and make him get his own.(its rusted really badly) TUNDRAWAGON!!!!!

so i picked up a set of mazda six lug rims with cooper discoverer a/ts 225/75/r15s got all 4 with center caps..the tires are worn pretty good but its still past Washingtons head when i did the quarter test. so i decided to do a test fit on my parts wagon. no lift. and not on a jack and at the rear of the front tire checking the offset( i only put one side on so it looks like its crooked) with a 2 inch lift, some triming and alot of love from the bfh they should clear pretty well. im so excited.

im interested in this too... i got a 97 outback with grey heated seats and i want them in my loyale.. im not concerned about the fab work... but a pic of it would be nice.

sadly your car will never be as loud as a n/a car. the turbo cuts alot of the noise out. even running my 87gl10t with just the downpipe it was still very quiet. while cruising it could barely be heard.(but when i was getting on it it sounded like it was going to engulf the universe:D) the cats are easy to hollow just ger a big metal bar and ram the stuff till it all comes out. if you were to cut it right before the 2nd cat and put a 45degree bend to a cherry bomb and have it come out right behind the driver door, you would have a good sound a good look and it would be mostly legal.
-
On my gl10 i just cut the exhaust off right befor the cat. Sounded like a wrx with 3in exhaust. I put the exhaust back to be stealthy tho.

find the access panel to the fuel pump and tap on it with a hammer(or tap the bottom of the tank). it should come back to life for a while. that will tell you if its the pump or the wiring. ive done this hundreds of times and it always works. i love hearing this when i go to look at a car."well it was running when it was parked" . tap tap tap ...vroom vroom. also just for shiggles double check the fpr. after the pump issue is addressed.
-
EPIC. i plan to do something similar but snow camo with subaru colors.(white brown black and my cars already gray) should be pretty cool when i get around to it. isn't it funny how you have to put camo on a subaru to make it stand out?(except for brats, they stand out already) my wag went invisible on me this morning when i went to get gas...looked out at the pump and it wasn't there. till i went outside and double checked.

im going to say ej it also.. before a few days ago i wouldn't had said that. i just finished a motor swap on a 99 outback and i gotta say ej's are thousands of times better.. there wasnt a single bolt that was a pain to get to and the intake come off with all the wires and sensors. im blown away.(my first ej) i definitely plan on building a frankenmotor for my 91 loyale.. here in alaska the subaru is our state car (not really but it shoud be) you cant go more than 2 minutes without seeing an ea82. first gen legos can be had under 300 with a bad clutch, tranny, or timing belt. 1 hr from here theres a yard with 400+ 85-12 subarus. copart.com <<thats the best way to get cheap cars. like this 97 outback. when alls said and done it could be had for at most $400. http://www.copart.com/c2/car_auction_search_results.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e1s2&lotId=14620882&returnPage=SEARCH_RESULTS or this 97 legacy brighton.. http://www.copart.com/c2/car_auction_search_results.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e1s5&lotId=14385022&returnPage=SEARCH_RESULTS can you say donor?..

ITS IN! and it runs! i got a check engine light so ill have to double check everything but it runs good and the timings right i put the starter in with one bolt and did a test start.no strange noises or grinding so the guy im working for said it'll be fine like that. not bad for my first motor swap and my first quad cam timing belt.. overall im pretty damn proud of myself.

1988 subaru turbo GL, EJ22 and 4" lift, plus 6lug swap build!

i dont mind the snow, but the -30 temps with 50mph winds suck. alot. -
Thanks GD! i never would have thought about the starter bolt. funny enough i had already planned to swap the manifold because i noticed the lack of the evap. im not going to switch the heads because the person who worked on the car before me took the heads apart.. and im not going to mess with that. is the 4 bolt vs 8 bolt going to be a problem?.. i noticed the 97 has studs on the bottom 2 of the bell housing where as the 99 has bolts?. i got the donor 2.5 out. and heres where its going And, i did this all by my big self.
-
So i'm doing a motor swap between a 97 outback and a 99 outback(97s the donor) the 97 is an auto and the 99 is 5spd. My question is am i going to run into any problems or is it like i thought and its just a straight swap?. ( please don't point out the obvious stuff like the starter and the fly wheel .) i'll figure it out either way but a little warning would be nice.. ive already got the donor motor ready to pull and the other motor is out already. if all goes smoothly i should have it together and running in a few hrs. its wierd how ej's like to knock out the "EJ25" stamping.. this one nearly knocked it out perfectly.

lol its fun. until you wake up with 5ft of snow to deal with... its interesting tunneling to your car. lole cordova, one of our smaller towns got 21ft in 3 days/:lol: im going to make my own but im only going 2" because my wags a 3at.. and i dont think it would even be drivable with anything bigger than 27s..plus 2" lift is pure ground clearance. the only reason people go bigger is for tires.. -

my stock gl-10 could push quite alot of snow. i was ramming through 3ft deep snow drifts all winter, i even rescued a couple full size suv's. i cant imagine what it would be like with 4 inch lift and 235's and an ej... you've created a monster! lol really interested to see how this turns out i cant wait till i get my wag lifted even if its only 2".. -
