  1. Hmm thats not bad at all.. Pm me if your interested
  2. the amount of Subaru parts here in Alaska is astounding. if the shipping wasn't so steep i would start a parts salvage business just to ship parts to board members.
  3. i have set of those rally rims. someone pained them black but they should restore(no scratches or chips and all4 centercaps.) but i think the shipping from here in Alaska would make it not worth it. i actually know where there's a few sets of those, and the H style
  4. I remember reading a post that said one of the screws inside the ecu came loose and was grounding out the fuel pump. And there a write up in the USRM on how to fix an ecu that doesn't kick on the fuel pump. Probably a wild goose chase but I've seen crazier problems.. Did you try starting it with the fuel pump hot wired? Would be nice to know if it did start. Would help narrow down the problem to the electric system.
  5. I've found cranking it works the best because if it isn't cranking the fuel pump only gets power for a second to prime the system making it very difficult to turn it on jump out and tap I before it stops getting power. And I'm not sure which relay goes to the fuel pump but someone will chime in and add that info
  6. Hmm... Well have some one crank it and tap the fuel pump with a wrench usually it will come back to life. (not forever tho) Also check the wires for cracks or grounding Yes the ecu is behind the trim under the colum (if you were driving it would be right above your knees) That is the only fuse panel. But behind it there are relays. One of which controls the fuel pump.
  7. My 87gl-10 has the green digidash and 20 (4.00 a gal puts it right above half a tank When I run out Of bars I have about 40 miles left depending on my mood. If yo pull up the carpet in the back there's an access panel to get to the sending unit. I bet if you pull it out the problem will be obvious.
  8. Unplug the Maf and see if it starts if it does you know the Maf is bad. The Maf controls all the fuel to the motor. If its not working properly it won't start. And most of the time it won't give a code. Because its usually not broken but just severely out of spec. When my gl-10 broke down I was :banghead:for 3 weeks before I found out it was the Maf. Put a new one in and it runs 100% perfect now
  9. well there isnt a whole lot of options. you got the Peugeot rims which are close to correct offset they are 4x140. and they come in steel or alloy and in 14 and 15" then you got any steel 6 lug rim from toyotas nissans chevys ect. most of the time the offset is very positive so those wont work.(you have to redrill them.) id recommend finding a nice set of oem subaru alloys then refinishing them they would look pretty cool under a 4 inch drop.
  10. its a vacuum solenoid if you follow the vacuum lines it should lead to the FPR or the EGR. i cant remember right now.. its referred to as a vacuum solenoid in my chiltons. not sure how much that will help with ordering one...but theres a whole grave yard of ea82ts in the valley.. probably a 5 dollar part. spent the last few hrs looking around and the correct name is egr vacuum solenoid.. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sku/Hitachi/EGR_Vacuum_Solenoid/W0133-1624136.html... found one thats almost right. but thats as close as ive gotten.
  11. oh yes. the green light is addictive..but can be expensive.. luckily i have a line on about 6 ea82ts that will be going to the crusher this summer.. one of which is a black rx 3door.
  12. where was it? and by chance you have a better pic?.. from that angle it looks like nothing ive seen on my wagon.. glad to hear you got it home. PICS!!! lol
  13. welcome! sounds like you got a nice wagon there. everyone says the ea82t is crap...and it is. but with maintenance they will provide many thousand miles in stock form. that being said an intercooler would be a good mod to help cool things down and keep the heads from cracking. mine has 245k on it and its still stomping hondas.
  14. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49918 It took a little longer to figure it out but there you go.
  15. Any codes? theres a write up on how to check them but I'm on my iPod and I'm not sure how to post links.. Logic predicts if it's getting spark and compression all it needs is fuel.(it is getting Compression right?) Check the intake snorkus for leaks if it's leaking it will cause a no start. The Maf is very important on these cars, but it should run with it unpluged. puts it into a default limp home mode IIRC. I've seen mafs cause all kind of problems. Never hurts to check. Hope you figure it out! My $0.02
  16. I haven't really hauled anything in or on my gl10 But I have pulled several cars/trucks out of all maner of situations. I shame dragged a 98 explorer out of a 3 ft tall snow drift Not to mention all my drifting adventures. 60mph sideways in a wagon is what dreams are made of.
  17. I'm glad I live where I live and not where you live. I haven't had to parallel park since my driving test. Not thats it's that difficult in a Subaru there's just way better places to park........like on top of a silly ricers Honda..
  18. My wagon had this problem. I replaced both fronts before it went away(I replaced the wrong one first too) Sadly It is your other wheelbearing. I ended up Doing all four I figured well I'm half way there might as well. It's something to do with the dual bearings in the knuckle it gets kinda bass-ackwards
  19. 87 ea82t wagon. 20 city 26 highway( the back is full of tools) and I also suffer from heavyrightfootitis Could probably pull 30hwy without the 300lbs of crap in the back Any of the Alaskans that posted on the first page still around? Still trying to organize some kind of Subaru meet
  20. So I fixed it. The pumP was frozen. I Took it out put 12v to it and taped it with a wrench and bam. Came back to life I now have working cruise Control!! Thanks gloyale for your help. I hope this thread becomes useful to someone.
  21. Yeah I was thinking that too. I wonder how hard it is to pull out and rebuild(I'm very good at rebuilding electric components)
