  1. I also have a 87 Gl10 with the same dash is the dash doing anything weird? Speedo not working odometer not working something of that nature? Or is it just clicking?
  2. +1 I had this problem on mine couldn't figure it out till I adjusted the ebrake
  3. I wouldn't do that. It just seems like it would cause more problems. And I'm not 100% that ignition provides the same amount of power. the computer is ment to have a memory power source so it can store data if you take that away its going to be trying to relearn everything every time you start it I would imagine that would deffinatly kill the ecu. Your problem isn't the computer. Well I mean it might be but not because yours is bad but because it was an auto and is now a mt the ecus are probably different.. I've got a lot of ideas on what might be causing this like me and my dad had a ford focus that would do almost exactly what your describing it turned out to be a pinhole in one of the fuel lines( although I cant remember where exactly it was) basically air was getting into the fuel line and it would idle really hi then stop then randomly stall and so on Sorry about any grammar errors iPods are hard to type on
  4. Cool idea but mostly just a waste of money lol
  5. I don't know anthig about the swap but I do know if your going to turbo it go with a remote mount turbo( inplace of the muffler) because the xt6 has a very tight engine bay already and with a swap like that I can only imagine it getting tighter.
  6. The alloys are Wayy lighter than the steelies and I think the weight is close to the same between the H style and the dial style I'm going to go to car quest here in town first and see how good it is before I start ordering and paying out the a$$ for shipping lol
  7. I've got idle issues that came with the car and have yet to be resolved mines the oppisite tho mine idles down . And just thinking out loud here but is it possible that your Intake manifold gasket is leaking? And maybe the high idle diapraphgm is sticking I'm just gunna keep emptying my brain till this gets solved lol
  8. Id check the temp sensor. If its out of whack it would cause that. The car thinks its still cold so it keeps the revs up.
  9. It may be the ignition switch if there's no power to the coil+ or the resistor ( depending on if the ignition module is in the distributor, if it is there is no resistor) the - on the coil is controlled by the ignition module so that may be the next place to look
  10. Why didn't every Subaru come with a LSD? No one knows..
  11. still an awesome car. if i find a sedan again im going to lift it just because they look awesome lifted and im already going to lower my wagon so i need a lifted sedan
  12. warmed up 35 degrees so its 15 degrees out and we got some snow but i didn't get a chance to get any pics. ill get a drift video soon.. its Alaska so i bet its going to snow again
  13. Got 2 new c/vs in my 84 hatchie and a new heater. also got some winter tires mounted on it. now i dont have to wake up before 10 to give my brother a ride to work woot!
  14. yes my gl-10 is indeed mpfi but i know that most of the emmisions parts and sensors are the same like the tps which has my vote. cant test anything yet as i dont have a voltmeter will have one by the end of the day tomorrow tho but i will deffinatly check the iac im pretty good at making older electronics work so if its obvious ill fix it
  15. actually the turbo 3at uses 23 spline the turbo 5mt uses 25 spline.. speaking from experience and the 5 speed d/r would be the way to go just make sure you have correct ratios. sounds like the parking paw. some one probably put it in park while it was still moving and if i recall theres band adjusters on the drivers side right under the shift linkage. and also check the vaccum line to the transmission down shift diaphragm. and last but not least a new tranny filter would probably help. those transmissions dont die unless severely neglected so id say pick up a haynes/chiltons repair manual they're only like $10-25 hopefully someone with access to FSM for 1987+ will post and fill in a few blanks
  16. I'd go with coil over sleeves from a Honda accord Im not 100% that those Are the right ones but I've heard they work
  17. Bump for help I drove the car for a while lastnight with the new alt and battery it will idle just fine then after around 20 mins it'll start idleing down again And some times it will be idleing just perfect till I touch the gas pedal then it will idle down again. Also I have a spfi parts wagon so guess and I'll go swap it
  18. thats why ive got a turbo! lol bigger tires=more boost!
  19. sweet! welcome to the addiction known as subarus. lol
  20. maybe the fresh axle is putting more stress on the other axle i had this problem not even 3 days ago
  21. Yeah I'm going to pull them out of the snow and refinish them( someone painted them completely black) and get them mounted next week. Should helpmy wagon drift a bit better. Those rims weigh almost nothin
  22. 87 gl-10 So my car has been doing this since I got it. it will idle just fine for around 10 mins then the idle slowly gets lower and lower till eventually it dies. Bad alt right? Not quite.. I replaced the alt with a known to be good unit . The problem has gotten worse now it will chug chug backfire then rev up just fine. I've seen a few posts saying a something about diodes? Any help would be nice. Ive got a 91 spfi parts wagon so name it and I'll try it .
  23. Yep it's lake blue . Nice xt btw. I plan on gettin one of those soon maybe Ann xt6. That one would be lifted tho.. Makes more sense to me lol also i like your rims. I have a set just like em but. The holes and center cap on mine will be lake blue just to make them stand out.
  24. Hmmm it may be lake blue.. But I'm still going to get a can of each just to be sure
  25. That was the first place I looked lol
