  1. that would have been helpful about 6 hrs ago lol. its all in and working. dont think i did any damage. im going to get the wheel bearings replaced soon anyways.
  2. first thanks for the post and second sweet wagon. mines just like it except mines blue. also mines stock.
  3. also once i figure out how to upload pics ill post my progress.
  4. ok this may be completely unrelated to my post but anyone know any tips to rear c/v removal or is beating it with a hammer till it pops out of the hub the correct way.. keep in mind i did this to the parts im not keeping. just curious about it before i start pulling the parts that i need to keep. and i might be wrong but it seems like you guys are seriously over complicating this. take the actuator and cable and just hook it up to the hi/lo selector and leave the lever for 2wd/4wd.. thats my input. and also i have these parts, if anyone wants we might be able to arrange something. but keep in mind im up here in alaska shipping will probably cost more than the parts
  5. didnt think of that. i figured i could just use the stock parts that were on my car orig to control the hi/lo a simple on off kinda thing. but ive decided to not do this because i dont have time. i have a rear axle swap all the door locks ignition door panels rear hatch glass, anyone know how to do that?, and a bunch of other little parts&pieces and i have 2 days to do this all. all by myself lol with almost no tools
  6. well i was lookin at the push button set up and i think all i need to do is mabe fab a mount and a way to attach the cable to the hi/lo selector
  7. i got a gl-10 turbo wagon that had a d/r swapped into it the rear ratio is wrong but thats ok i managed to get ahold of the donor car that has all the original parts from my wagon including the orig. push button 5 spd tranny and all the interior, exterior pieces. now onto the subject!. with all these parts laying around would it be possible to use the push buton actuator, cable, wiring etc to engage the hi/lo on the d/r. i saw a post on here the other night where a guy modded the d/r to have a second lever allowing 2wd lo. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=71289 i wanna do the same thing but use the push button to engage lo or find a way to make it engage the 4wd while the lever controls the hi/ lo.. any one ever done anything like this?
  8. ok i got a 87 gl-10 wagon turbo 5 spd the guy i bought it from put a dual range tranny in it. the rear axle seems to have a different ratio it says 3.70 my question is what ratio does the dualrange have? its a fwd 4hi 4 low selectable. the car seems to fight itself on pavement im wondering if this will cause problems aside from winter and camping i dont use 4wd but also if the rear ratio is higher wont the rear kick out easyier?.. im rambling. any responses will be greatly apprieciated.
  9. and mine looks exactly like that but mine got hit in the back.. and yeah this is gunna be my first car lol
  10. lol i just bought a 87 rx aswell.. mine runs great needs tlc and body work but every thing else is great and i have a parts car with a good block.so i wish u luck with ur rx from reading the other posts ur gunna need it..
  11. ok so i got a 86 gl-10 and a 87 rx and the ignition system is differnt the gl-10 has wires to the coil and the rx has connecters and the distributors are different i bought the rx to fix the gl-10 cuz the rx is a pos with a good motor and the gl-10 is beautiful no rust its perfect but the engine dont run.. the guy i got the gl-10 from said it was a head gasket but the coil got taken out so im left with 6 wires so i cant see if its the head gasket or the water cooled turbo.. are there any differnces aside from the ignition system i need to worry about? any infomation will be greatly appreciated im 16 and this is my dream car so i need to get it running so i can drive it..
