  1. Glad to see im not the only one,im going through exactly the same at the moment with my wagon. It is tiring and causes major mojo loss at times but itll be worth it
  2. Today saw the removal of the windscreen..... And the knackered old dash Note ignition switch now in rightful place ;D Just waiting to have the welding finished before I refit it all so had a play about... With Without I like it more without it,wanted to trial fit my JDM fender mirrors but cant find the bloody things anywhere....... :
  3. Anyway, turns out that in typical subaru fashion it isnt as rust free as i first thought.... Seems the previous owner liked to ford deep water then leave it in floorpans to rot from inside out..... Luckily it is confined to the front floorpans, rears and everywhere else is solid.
  4. Mate,your a legend ;)

    20 quid?

    Pete

  5. Wasnt intentional, ive got the mirror to go back on,and it will be going back on as i cant see anything behind me that side at night due to the window tints lol
  6. Ive seen that hatch before, you on ojc too? What front have you got on it? ive got a set of new old stock round lamp surrounds with all the lamps with it apart from the headlamps,id like to find a car to fit them too but probably wont happen lol Hows your wagon coming along?
  7. yep,its a replica of chans in cannonball...it was the only car that caught my eye in the film at the age of about 6 and i wanted one ever since! even wore out the vhs tape we had of it lol Theres not many over here,i know of two in the flesh including mine and there is rumours of one or two others floating around but no ones seen them for a couple of years now so they are getting scarce. Window catches are all ok for now, they dont get used in mine tbh but if they do break i know where to go Just a thought but if any of you guys are interested in what we uk guys get up to with our scoobys then feel free to join up to our little forum http://www.mvbrumbybrat.co.uk mainly 70s and 80s stuff on there ;D
  8. Thought id chuck a few pics up here of my hatch Bought it this time last year, got round to sorting it out over the summer, needed quite extensive metalwork,inner/outer sills both sides as well as both inner/outer rear arches and a pair of front wings. As bought work in progress Have got the original early 80's front to go on it as well as chrome bumpers. How it is at the moment.
  9. Im after a set of rear mudflaps for a gen1 wagon and brat if youve got a spare coupla pairs?
  10. As I desperately needed a new dashboard for my recently imported wagon a fellow member of the subaru pickup forum I frequent came forward to say he had one in a breaker that I could have if I wanted to pop over for it. Heres what i found Absolutely stunning condition I could barely drag myself away from it at the wnd of the day....the breaker however was pretty shot... My nice new split free dash My attampt at an arty pic
  11. At the moment its running a 2wd manual shift 5 speeder with the standard 1600 lump, only done 40k miles from new, have all paperwork to back it up. It came out of a later leone saloon by all accounts. Would like to upgrade at least one of mine to be able to keep up with modern traffic, have a mate with an ej20 turbo brat conversion but to be honest i dont need that much power, maybe a standard 2.0 with carb conversion? trouble is,which one do i do it to!?
  12. Its always the way lol yep, your right about the wheels, they are just a bit too chunky for the coupe for my liking.
  13. The coupes gonna get some attention soon, its been a while since its had any lol, want to get running gear out,get it sprayed up (pale blue) maybe lowered a bit on some jdm style alloys pop on some fender mirrors and thatll probably do it :-p
  14. They certainly are I also have this hanging around, ive had it for about 5 years now. As it arrived: As it is now: Is all pretty much ready for a respray, found it in a lockup under a block of council flats up the other end of the country where it had been sitting for ten years. what you guys think?
  15. Just a rag, wasnt even rubbing that hard, think its justgone from years in the sun.will be ok with a wax i think but i wouldnt want to use anything too rough on it. Will prob get a respray at some point, keep having thoughts of either dark brown or yellow with 70's us style side stripes a bit like yours ;D
  16. It seems the problem was the rad cap,the spring was bent over to one side so it wasnt sealing properly, had it running for half an hour with no problems, till it decided to spring a leak on one of the heater hoses, its the old cloth covered hose tho and does look knackered. Will see how it performs on a drive, lots of hills round here so itll get a good test. Ive tried a bit of rubbing compound on the wing and the bonnet, has made it a bit better but the paint is so thin you can see primer in places :S
  17. Hey shaun coupla pics from today when i moved it under its own steam for the 1st time in my ownership.
  18. looks good! jealous of the A bar,i want one lol slight mojo loss on mine today after refitting the engine its running beautifully but blowing water out the rad overflow so still getting pressure in the water somewhere......pish.....
  19. Hi all Not been on for a while, beena bit busy with other things but now have more time to play with scoobs. Always wanted a Gen 1 wagon, originally started the search in the US but after loads of false leads i started to look elsewhere..... One night trawling ebay.com.au.... A few bids and long distance calls later it was on its way to me in a container First sighting at southampton docks.. Got it home, had a poke around and its all solid apart from around the rear window..easily sorted so well chuffed there. Chucked a battery on it,replaced the ignition barrel with one i had as there were no keys with it and off it went 2nd turn of the key....sounded great! but then.. Hmm,quick check of oil filler reveals this Bit poorly.... Engine out Cleaned up... And replaced Brakes have also had an overhaul, now to tackle the interior and take it for an mot. Also have this that ive recently finished,it was fairly rotten but all back together now.
