  1. I am very interested in your car. Please email me at jzacher85@gmail.com or call 970-712-8998 please respond! thanks

  2. Debris? I have a custom drill attachment that connects to a 10 hp vacuum for the initial drilling and a telescoping vacuum attachment that snakes in to each port. That and I took off the throttle body and stuffed it with automotive seat cushion foam so that nothing could drop in.
  3. Very nice dude, it looks just like my first Subaru, it was an 86 gl-10. Ah, turbo, 4 wheel drive, power everything, windows, seats, sunroof that car was so clean. Then I made a monumentally stupid decision and traded it for a minivan! :-\ Muscle Building Program
  4. The only reason I am doing this setup, other than my curiosity and imagination running away from me at this point, is because my wiring, comp, sensors or some other crap included in the whole EFI setup is hosed. This is my first experience with an EFi that I have had to screw with, my other fuel injected cars all run great. The 2.2 runs like a bat out of hell with efi, just not consistently. Unless I really fall in love with this setup, my intent is to megasquirt this thing as soon as I have the cash to get the setup. I have the 2 barrol weber from the 1.8, It was awsome on it. (Read the post about how I smoked and humiliated an RX-8) If anything, I will only need to re-jet the carb. But I know a LOT about NA engines and am not at all concerned about the functionality of the finished project. Chaz Muscle Building Program
  5. Yes, on mine, there is a recessed groove with an o-ring seated into it. The head is slightly beveled at the outside edge, so it just took a little taping around the distributor to get it seated. Oil the o-ring first, makes it much easier. The adjustment/bolt down grooves needed to be widened ever so slightly. I just used a slightly larger drill bit, placed dizzy on a firm surface and let the bit widen the grove. i had to go over it a few times to smooth it out though. Muscle Building Program
  6. I marked out the holes. Cut the holes using a hole saw and an electric drill. Mounted My adapter plate. And then the Weber, yes it is at an angle, just temporarily though, till i find a wedge of aluminum. As far as the Dizzy, I used an 86' Ford Escort and aside from widening the mounting/adjustment tracks, no modifying needed. It just bolted right in. Muscle Building Program
  7. Okay, I have searched and searched, but can't figure out what to do with the three wires from the Escort distributor. Can anyone tell me where these hook to the car?
  8. Well, I took a chance today and got a distributor from an 86 Escort, new cap and rotor, $65.- buck total. It bolts right on to the back of the head and perfectly fits the groove in the cam. Just a little cleaning and I'll be good to go on that, except i need to figure out what to do with those three wires.
  9. I read that post too, I am using my 2 barrol Weber. I ground down the area where the coil pack mounts today. Now it's flat and ready for cutting the intake holes for the carb and i need to drill and tap for mounting studs. I have a piece of 1/2" aluminum left over from the EA-EJ engine adapter plate That I made, to make a custom plate once i remove the throttle body. I am going to try and locate a low pressure fuel pump tomorrow along with a distributor.
  10. Those are all actual Subaru parts though aren't they? I am thinking of doing the escort dizzy for ease of locating it. However... I know where there is an early legacy with a 1.8 liter in it, I wonder if it's dizzy would bolt up to my 92 lets call it (it's 90-94 i can't remember) EJ22? My engine came from a made for Japan car.
  11. I am assuming that this is a distributor for a 1.6 liter Escort? Are those electronic?
  12. Sweet!, Do you happen to know which distributor is better for this application? Ah, a new project.
  13. Hey, I have an EJ22 in my 87 GL, I have had nothing but problems with it, The engine is 90-94 mpfi, what besides the intake do I need to convert this thing? I will hack and fab my own manifold, If i don't solve this issue soon i am going to revert to the 1.8. I have got to start saving some money on fuel, my ranger gets 15 mpg. and it's killing me! This is the rear of the passenger side head and I believe that is where the distributor goes. Thanks in advance, Chaz
  14. Hey, The ECU should be the same on turbo and NA, however, there are sensor wires that get swapped. Namely the crank and cam angle sensor wires. http://legacycentral.org/library/ECU_Landscape.htm Hosehead Chaz
