  1. if it is stick shift put a switch on the clutch switch so it thinks the clutch isn't pushed in to start the car.
  2. it has slight side to side play but it has some decent up and down play. I did the put the cap on and make it run and put your hand on it (the top of the cap) and I didn't feel a thing. I have 12.5V off and 13.7 running at ~800 RPM Where is this play at? Also the disty is from an 82/83 automatic FWD car so that makes it the 4wd style right? Keep in mind it is not the orig one on there.
  3. here is what I do know.... The coil is fairly new since it had an Accel on it when i got the car and it took out the orig disty and the alt. is pretty new but not sure how new, but when you open the hood it is the shinyist thing under there. Looks like I need to get batteries for the multimeter. If I take the cap off will I be able to play with the shaft at all or does it have to be together and running?
  4. ok here is what is going on.... my 83 GL with 55k on it has sat for 3 months and yesterday i take it out and it runs great. Today it runs great too but I got this slight fluctation in the tach where it jumps 300 rpm and 2x it bucked really hard. i would assume that this is a bad disty isn't it? I'm not worried really since I have a spare if this is the issue but my major question is this: How long is it going to last and will it get noticeable worse before it craps out or is it going to happen with no warning? Tonight it was doing it a lot more so i mashed the gas and the car ran great while the tach was jumpy. Am i on the right track here or Yes I am kinda considering I haven't put 500 miles on it this calender year. :-\
  5. in my baja (2006 with 20k miles) the coolant is disappearing. Every oil change more is missing.... Give me your opinions on where it is going...ie: still air in the system, HG's, coolant nomes? I swear if this is how it is going to be.....
  6. none that I saw when I was there last (month ago)
  7. Harry's!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to get a few odds and ends. I like to camp at places like: Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, Motel 6, etc.
  8. keep the cats though...you never know when you might need them again Put them in the corner of the garage...not back on the car
  9. Correction: they were more reliable but still short on power where the wasserboxer was neither reliable or powerful
  10. ewwwwwwwwwwww but your like old or something. Gross   j/k:banana:
  11. I didn't know who was getting the tranny...I just saw pics of him and Dave carrying it around
  12. Glad you guys had sooooo much fun!!!!!! is there a pic of the Jeffy mobile? I'd love to see his ride.
  13. ^^^^ do what he said....it is worth the extra 10 minutes just for the safety sake of accidentally popping into 4wd or something stupid liek that.
  14. last I knew he was meeting his sister in Denver and they were going to CT together or something like that. And like someone else said....I too have run an escort to a speed greater then 85 mph (and not down hill either)
  15. We should get together sometime. I live a block and a half from the turkey hill in Akron. I would say lucky you for living so close to Autozone but they never have a damn thing in stock for Subarus.
  16. Been doing business with randy/tom at orbachs for 15 years. Hands down this is worth the drive to get your car fixed. Luckily I am only 12 miles away though but still they are minutes from the PA TPK. Good luck!
  17. was thinking the same thing.....the shell might be worth saving.
  18. I have in a 5 block radius about a dozen that I know of anything from the 2 baja's to an H6 OB and my 83 GL and anything inbetween (no svx or xt though). I went for a walk the other night and there was one pulling out of the corner store (OB) and then a legacy sedan going down the street and a forester approaching from the other direction all in about 15 seconds. The street I was on is not a busy street either.... They are around...you just have to look alittle. you can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting a jetta or a subaru (lots of TDi here too)
  19. the thing is that price is unheard of...50 miles away and up on the corner from me I would pay $2.839 and that is why the baja was ultra low....so I could get all that I could handle! I wish i had a 55 gal drum
  20. Eat your heart out folks.... i got gas at Wawa in Allentown PA last night on the way home. my fill-up where are the pics?????????
