  1. I totally understand what you mean...i needed those parts for mine 16 years ago!
  2. do it *eleventrybillion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and like Moody said...visit us over on www.xt6.net we'll help ya out.
  3. that site is nice and all but it isn't the most accurate. I did a search for a subaru baja and it didn't bring up much but I know for a fact that my local dealer has 6 where that site told me the closest is 30 some miles away. I guess every tool you can use will help somewhat.
  4. same reason i don't downshift when comming to a stop sign. Brake pads are cheaper then clutch disks
  5. that VW on 3 wheels is soooo cool and I bet the guy in the mitsu PU had a fun ride in that thing. Looks very cool. Can you give a town name so I could look into seeing how far it is away from me?
  6. any old car would do...i would own his a$$ then. Full tort FTW!
  7. I'd give him a brake check if I didn't care about the baja so much...I could see him totaling it and me losing my a$$ because i owe too much on it or something....either that or he will hit and run and not have ins. either. The guy drives an early 90's sable and it is pretty rough looking (guardrail swipe and all) and so is he...
  8. I have a 7 mile drive to work and he is usually behind me for about 4 of it. The problem is that he is BEHIND me and I can never get his plate #. The time he hit the guardrail he didn't even stop to look at his car....he just kept going and really got close at the next redlight.
  9. dude i totally feel for ya....I have almost been rearended in my baja BY THE SAME PERSON on average of about 3 days a week and 3 instances per day for about the last 2 weeks or so. One morning he even crossed the center line and side swiped the guardrail while following me. One day him and I are going to have a little chat...the outcome isn't going to be too good for him either.
  10. one thing I might add having driven NKX's car: let the door panels on. I like to have an arm rest and those doors are full of sharp little things. If you are tracking it I would remove all the carpet but if it is for driving on the street then i personally would let the front carpet in and take all of it out behind the front seats. If it has auto belts scrap that and get a good 5 pt harness. What about removing all the guts of the rear 2 doors and welding them shut? more rigidity and less weight inside the doors. Also, if you are going to be the only one in the car then just go with one seat only and not a pair up front. Relocate the battery to the rear or behind the front seats on the floor (in a battery box) and if you want to go really crazy....5 gal fuel cell.
  11. hhahahahhah When I looked at that pic i thought he needed to trim a little there too!!!!
  12. just a note....if you ever unhook the battery I think you have to do the procedure again. Just keep it in mind
  13. well i think I will sleep good tonight...now that I can officially say that I think i have seen everything... WOW!!!!! i could put some good use to that thing.
  14. there is a writeup over on www.nasioc.com if you scroll to the bottem and go to the baja forum you can do a search and there is a good read on how to do it there (I would know since I asked the same question over there) Good luck and yes......it is very annoying
  15. You know what really sucks....i remember stripping a blue dash (ea 71 style) at pauls old place and trashing it. Damn shame some of those great parts got trashed. :-\ +1 for the emissions. I am getting my 83 inspected and emissioned on friday for the last time. Next year i will let it lapse over the winter and in Jan of 08 i qualify for antique plates too! Ohhhh and by the way....nice brat and very cool factory clock too ( I had the factory clock in my 79 wagon)
  16. Good luck nipper!!!! I did this years ago in my new back then 02 OB. I did 5k miles in about 7 or 8 days.
  17. "working on the lil monster most of the night" Hmmmm you sir are going straight to the hardcore bunch. Hats off to ya! Congrats on getting the EA-81 though. I know I really love mine in all its cracked dash glory.
  18. awww dude he bought that. Sweet! i thought you were going to buy it?
  19. trash wagons aren't supposed to be pretty...suck it up. Seriously though...total bummer but it can be fixed and I honestly think he will make it as good as new.
  20. it must just be the 80 and 81 that was 1600 then. you buying one????
  21. dl's have only 2 headlights and gl's have 4 headlights. I think the older dl's (maybe the 82's) only have the 1600 where the gl has an 1800.
  22. ^^^^ Bingo! i bet they made you a copy at the dealer of the "valet" key and not the "normal" key. The valet key has only certain doors it will open etc.
