  1. jagoff....damn that makes me miss Western PA. I hardly use that term since moving to the eastern side...
  2. my bathroom night light is 7W...I just checked it. As for those of you who want a block heater....go buy the damn thing. Years ago i bought one from a subaru dealer in Reading PA for a grand total of $22. Part number I have but could be old: A0910AS000
  3. you get a card in the mail and on friday (or sat. if you don't come up on fri) you go to a special gate (I forget but I can clarify later) and you give the dude your card. He gives you a goodie bag of stuff and a window sticker that MUST be put on the car to go in and out. Last year we were on the end of one of the asian rows. If you tell me when you are going to leavt to get there I would meet you and be more than happy to walk you through the process. I had to dumb my way around last year so...I'll help ya if you want me to. I am taking Friday off of work so I am most likely going to head up early that day. Last year it rained so I held off going so early in the morning but a true diehard was there and sat there in the rain for 4 hours (nkx).
  4. I think your wife will get bored. My wife gets bored and she is a little into the soobs. It makes for a really great time to BS aobut soobs and stuff like that but if someone isn't into older cars (car show type stuff) then i would say solo might be your best option. NTB huh....discounts maybe?????? there is a great chinese place that we trek over to once in a while that is close to your work. i think it is in the same plaza as Staples and the place is called A-won buffet. Good stuff!
  5. I got this in my inbox... I think we should all see this and see if we can help this person: I've just joined this Message board and I don't seem to be able to post. Can you help me? You can email me directly at bdmail@densmore.newshare.com We live in rural Massachusetts. We are having a problem with starting our 2004 Subaru Legacy wagon. Every time we leave it with the dealer they say they can't duplicate it so they can't fix it. The problem is that about 80% of the time it starts normally. But about 20% of the time it barely starts, running very roughly and spewing out a little grey smoke start and smelling very gassy. Of those 20% starts, about half the time after running at 1,000 RPM the engine quits; other times by applying a little accelerator it gradually smooths out and runs normally. We have told the dealer we think the problem is that the computer controlling mixture is commanding a way-too-rich mix at start. The last time they had the car, they said the learned from Subaru there was some kind of a software upgrade to the computer that had to do with rich running and they said they did the reprogramming. The problem promptly occured again a few days later. Now we've involved Subaru's email consumer support tech service and the dealer now says, oops, there is one more test they can try. But their general line is, "If we can't duplicate the problem, we can't fix it." The car is at 43,000 miles and the engine is warrantied to 50,000. We want to make sure the problem is fixed while we are still in warranty. The car is unfit for its intended use and defective in that we can't depend upon it starting. What do you suggest we do to make the dealer understand that this is their problem, not our prolbem, and they need to fix the car or replace it? We've told them to just change out the computer, but they say they can't do that without Subaru authorizing it. We've asked if their is a resource Subaru has for them, or for car owners, that tracks service difficulty reports of similar problems, and both the dealer and Subaru say no. That's hard to believe. Advice?
  6. we really aren't a club.... mostly a bunch of people that get together once in a while. With that being said...it is very family oriented. Scott brings his son. The language is usually ok...maybe the occasional f bomb. This is a show and not an off road event. Camping: Scott does it at the show. I am priss and I go home every night to a nice warm shower and a soft bed Where are you in the York area? Wifes from there and we get over quite often (we are only 40 min away)
  7. it is proplerly aligned if you do with cars what he does. If he was an off roader then yes that is waaaayyyyyy out of spec. but if you are a cone lover like he is I'd say that sounds damn good to me for settings. Think of it this way: when youu corner you end up wearing the outer edge right. Well he is running with a bias toward the inner edge so that when the forces push the car to be on the outer edge it actually corners on the whole tire and not with a bias to the outer edge (more tread on the ground = faster corners and better handling). Without a pic to diagram it, it is a little harder to understand but if you could see a diagram you'd totally understand it. plus if you have ever seen him drive...well that would make sense also.
  8. I had the exact same one once (04 XS 5 speed and blue too) I'll spare you the rest of the details but they aren't pretty and I don't have it anymore.... It was a nice car though. Consider getting tint for the windows...I bet it would really look cool like that.
  9. if you sent the tank as a ground shipment there is not going to be a problem then.
  10. code33= vehicle speed sensor- adnormal voltage input entered from sensor
  11. I don't know how your dad is with mileage per year etc. and how long he plans on keeping the car but subaru was offering a $199 lease for 48 months with nothing down at delivery. Since it is a new month the incentives might have chaneged but ?????? The 16,699 thing is about the going rate for a stripped 2.5i. They (some dealer in the Harrisburg PA area) was offering 2.5i's for that during the Harrisburg auto show. IMHO, that is a sweet price. (and has been mulled around here a few times )
  12. if any of you justy folks ever get an ECVT I have a 1988 supplement for the ECVT system. I will loan it to anyone that wants to keep an ECVT on the road. Key word here is LOAN!!!!!!!! Oh and the Justys are cool too. I never drove one but I think they would be a fun little car to cruise in. Quick funny story: bunch of years ago when I was in college i was out playing in the snow in my XT-T. I was out on a back road and went by a farm house out in the middle of nowhere. In the driveway buried up to the door mirrors was a justy 4wd. I guess they thought they could make it (very large drifts) in the driveway but instead they sunk it and had to "dukes of hazzard" themselves out of the door windows. Very funny sighting...I can still see it in my head.
  13. I think I saw somewhere that someone thought that the voltage regulator on the board or voltage stabilizer on them goes bad and then they fry. I guess what I am saying is...just b/c you found the burnt spot doesn't mean that it is going to be a permanent fix. Just keep it in mind. Good luck though...I really like the 83/84 digi dash. Way cool!
  14. why not use one of those tanks that you can take to the gas station and inflate with their pump. I believe you could air up all your tires on one charge with those thing.
  15. nah...I won't come take it back but we do miss it around here...I'm sure the boro doesn't miss it though (stupid laws).
  16. am I missing anything......uhh yeah a turbo.... Sorry...I had to do it. Good luck with the new other motor.
  17. the wheels aren't rare....they are chrysler. Congrats. on the new project...can't wait to see the results
