  1. what is the rack off of though??? a little bit more info before it goes in the USRM please.
  2. yes! It is part of the 35th package. Per the 04 sales brochure "... you get 16"aluminum alloy wheels, a 6 way power drivers seat, dual power moonroofs (sedans get one), projector beam fog lamps, black leather wraped steering wheel designed by momo, and a leather wrapped shifter handle" 35th are cool cars....I have a 30th myself though....
  3. You know...I'm really likeing those wheels... damn they are sharp on there i wish I could have been at the track today:-\
  4. ok tex...help me out here. You took the radio and made a wire harness from the folded face to the HU right? Or am I off here? If so you got some pics of that harness? I have an 83 that I refuse to hack up but the factory radio sucks. If I could find a way to be crafty like this i'd be all over it.
  5. and those that host their own pics....don't delete them...you are leaving holes in the manual when you do this.
  6. I personally won't worry too much about the car. Some people suck at stick (I just got rid of my jeep for the same reason...wife:rolleyes: ) The one thing that does catch my eye here though....it is too much money. People have dealt brand new 05's for 22k (so I hear) Wing= optional take a lookie see at it and deal hard on it (they probably stole it from the guy since he couldn't drive stick and made a killing off of it)
  7. I'm surprised that nobody has welcomed you yet and remarked on your great progress with the conversion. Anyhow it seems that you have a well thought out project before you and a very good doner engine. you might want to hold off on scrapping the legacy just yet though. you might be able to pull some stuff off of it and make a few bucks (recoop some for the investment and maybe help others out with cheap parts). As for your .xls..... trash it now because when you see what this is starting to cost you (as with any project) sometime ignorance is bliss Anyhow welcome and take lots of pics along the way. Matt
  8. 83 GL with 4 headlight system and 4 silverstars in it... FTW!!!!!!
  9. when you unhook a battery I was always told to hook it back up and start the car and DO NOT touch the gas for like 15 min or so. This way the computer can relearn stuff and blah blah blah. Unhook it again...wait 30 min then hook it back up and do what I said above.
  10. those pics make me wish I had an 83-84 wagon or hatch. Thanks for making me sad...
  11. no I am talking about the plate on the baja. nasioc is the "north american subaru impreza owners club" In their OT they seem to have a language of their own.... i won't go any further about the plate... i do get your plate though...i own the movie.
  12. very nice ride indeed! did you make the bumper guard yourself?
  13. the license plate makes me laugh.....i hang out on nasioc too much I guess...
  14. actually I asked him if it had a title and what the vin was and all he told me was "its a 1979" and didn't answer any of my other ques. Actually if I could prove that it is my old wagon (my first car was a 79 dl wagon that was blue) I would jump in a heartbeat. It is kinda unlikely that it is my old one but who knows???? There are too many things/similarities on that car that make me wonder. See if he will give you the vin off of it.... BTW, I was always a steeler fan....I grew up in W. PA you know...
  15. I'd say agressive driving too.....aren't you the guy who hit the curb and screwed up the OB pretty badly???? exactly.
  16.       what? oh and it could be a 79 you know....
  17. you don't know that it is a 77...it could be a 79 or even a 78
  18. the first thing I would check if I was to work on it would be the brake (and also in this case clutch) switch. Maybe the tolerance is set too close and a bump in the road is enough to trip the switch. See if it happens when you hit bumps. Been down this road once in an 85 blazer years ago. Otherwise...you got warranty...let them figure it out. Matt
  19. I'm not really a big drinker and since I am going to commute to the show that isn't the best idea for me anyhow. Also, if it is hot I usually don't drink either because it just makes me feel like crap in the stomach. That being said....You and scott figure out what you want and do it accordingly. Maybe this year I'll go get buddy buddy with the citroen and peugeot people and see if I can score some wine.
  20. Why would you bring the car but not show it? Wash it and wax it and put it in the show area. The more cars we have the better.
  21. why is there a tire in the middle of the tow strap? Am i not enough of a redneck to understand??? Here in the East we just put the rope to the car and go for it (all 12' of the strap)
  22. This is a "classic" car show but you are invited too. Subarubrat brings his sti also. Last year I showed my 05 OBS so.... We like to have a mix of old and new...I am planning on showing my nearly mint 83 and I am going to register my 95 imp. too....I just picked up a 99 anniv. edition last week so it will be registered too but may not make it there. If you do register PLEASE refer to our club when you do it. We need 25 cars to show in the specal area and to get a tent. Anyone: I talked to the promoter of the show at the Harrisburg auto show the other week and told him we are excited to be back this year. He seemed genuinly interested and was glad to hear this. WHEN YOU REGISTER PLEASE REFER TO US AS ULTIMATE SUBARU SO WE CAN GET OUR CLUB AREA!!!!!!!!!1 I'm going to update the orig. post with a list of cars that are going to be entered....if you are an absolute definate please say so and then please register now so that you get the cheaper rate for doing it early!!!!!
  23. I got a great specialist up here near me....Mapquest Reinholds PA and see if it is a distance you are willing to drive...if so PM me for info. Matt
