    CB Radios

My buddy and I went to a truck stop about 30 miles from home last night to look at radios (i'm not the nerd...he is) He wanted to get some Galaxy with a freq. counter that costs like $450 or something like that... None in stock...go figure. :-\ If anyone is looking for a CB (used of course) please let me know. Eddie (my friend) will hook you up cheap and if you want any internal work done he can/will do that too! If anyone wants a home base unit he has 2 (i think) Cobra 2000 units for sale at a very good price. BTW, Just so you folks know...everything is on the level. Nothing is HOT or anything like that. LMK...i'm 10-7, Matt

    CB Radios

I have a cobra 19+ that has been "tuned" to do 30W. I have a buddy who is good at unlocking, "tuning", and adding more frequencies. I once talked to miss. from here in town on my 19+ and a K30 (not a K40 a K30). I'd say that was quite impressive all things considered...BTW, I was in town at the time this wasn't out in the country on a mountain or anything.... Matt
  4. Speaking of US models so the could be some year differences but... in 1995 subaru mad a 2wd legacy (2nd gen legacy). These models came with TCS (traction control sys.) This was Subaru's cheap alternative for people who didn't want to pay for the AWD but wanted a soob. Here in the US in 1996 subaru went AWD standard on all models so the TCS became a moot issue. I have only seen two TCS equiped legacy's in my life...one in 1995 and one about a year ago on a car lot in the middle of nowhere. The TCS basically controls wheel spin using brake force to slow a spinning wheel. It works in conjunction with the ABS on the car. If you want to screw with it... mash the gas and see the difference on/off. Have fun.... Matt
  5. When you are having this world event are you going to be moving stuff to the new and improved storage facility or is that another wknd.? Reason I am asking is if you need me to bring a PU to help I can and will. Please let me know. Matt
  6. The prices are a little higher than they should be....I have been thinking that subaru is pricing themselves out of the market too. As for the remark about Becker (beckersubaru.com ).....I have bought 3 NEW cars from them in the past 4 model years...and I can tell you first hand that their prices on new (along with the cheaper financing of a new car) outweighs their used prices hands down. The wagon that was quoted as being used is most likely about $1500 if that less than what they would sell it for new. If you finance that car you will get used rates though and actually pay more for the car. Dem: think about this....the guy I bought my car from (which quit reciently) told me he once sold an OB to a guy in colorado. He and his wife flew in to Leigh valley airport (allentown) and took delivery of their car. Then they drove it home (mini vacation) and was STILL about 1k less then they could have done locally. Do some more shopping, Matt
  7. I was looking at the raw times etc. I know the guy who got 117 (dodge neon) do you have any pics of him on the course? If so LMK, Matt
  8. ^^^^^ correct! If you are looking to put a turbo tranny in a NA car you can with a little bit of part swapping. I did this on a 90 AWD wagon.....just make sure you change the diff: turbo=3.9 na=4.11 (unless you are talking about someting newer than it might be a 4.44 (assuming you are talking about 90-94 legacys) Matt
  9. ummmm speedo trick? Explain how and what was done. I know someting isn't right but what? Matt
  10. doesn't work for me....why? Help!!!! EDIT: WTF...I come back 5 min later and it works..... Cool vid! BTW: this is my 1000th post.... woooohooooo (Yeah i know so what...) Matt
  11. Top notch work Eric. quick question: do they make a lot of noise on the road? Matt
  12. if you did it the 2nd week of june you guys could throw me a b-day party.... J/K Matt
  13. Sorry about that.....doing 3 things at once. How much is reg. for a "truck"? You never did say where you are at and what dealer you are working with... Very curious here... Matt
  14. The hills of PA.... HA!!!!! don't worry about it. you would be surprised the amount of torque that the 5 speeds can put down and not have to be downshifted. When I went to montana in my 02 OB years ago I usually NEVER downshifted for their mountains (which make ours look like ant hills) and that was a NON turbo car...if it had been a turbo i'm sure it would have been all the better. Where in PA are you might I ask? Also, FYI in PA you must register the baja as a truck....so that means your reg. is going to be more money than the $36 for a car (I forget how much light trucks are). Somebody dug this topic up from the dead.....BTW, I didn't buy the TB (I couldn't get what I felt was a good deal on an 04 leftover) so I bought the 05 in my sig. Matt
  15. Happy B-day buddy..... toast to you!!!! Matt
  16. One thing not mentioned is how old is the water pump. I lost my 2.2 years ago because I had a catastrophic failure while on the TPK going about 85 or so. It was over before i even knew what happened (took the HG with it too) SO...how is the WP? Matt
  17. cool vid and some really great pics.... Nice air on the rear tire Brian in the video. Whoever has the blue gl wagon: Nice! not that I didn't like them all though. Matt
  18. allsubaru.com states it is PN SOA5165109 What I was stating before is most likely the filter on the car now is black but if the new one is white that is OK as long as you bought it for an H6 (6 cyl) car you won't have a problem. Matt
  19. The reason you never heard of this Skip is because it DOES NOT EXIST. The know-it-all a few posts above is misinformed about suspensions and urban folklore... inspection code 175.80 sub part 8 paragraph (iii) states that the bumpers (main part of them) must be 16-20 inches above the road. It states nothing aobut ride height whatsoever peroid. As for mud flaps... 22.5 degrees measured from the road surface.. 175.78 section (i) If people want to start quoting PA inspection laws...get a book first and then get an inspection license... like I did. Why the heck are we talking about PA laws for a car that is on the otherside of the US.... Dude your car is low (and cool I might add) just don't bring it to PA...the cops won't get you but the potholes might eat you alive.... Matt
  20. The origional filter on the car is always black and seems a little smaller than the one you will replace it with. I just did my first change on my new OBS and this was the case. BTW, do not tighten the new one as much as the origional one....your knuckles will thank you. As for part #'s go to ebay and do a search....there was a guy selling oem filters from a dealer down south...I believe he listed a PN with the auction. Matt
  21. I'm no hardcore wheeler like you guys but I do have experience with those clevis pins. one word: CRAP. I USED to use those on my trailer at work (the good ones not the cheap junk for walmart etc) and they will blow apart if you look at them funny. Keep in mind this is on a TRAILER not a hardcore rig like you guys have...I like the bolt idea much better than that sh*&&y clevis pin. Hate to burst your bubble.... but I'd hate even more to see you stranded. Matt
  22. There is no fuse spot for a manual trans. The fuse is to lock out AWD on automatic cars only... Matt
