  1. here is where I am at on this. I can do either the 5th or the 12th but not both. I am working the following weekend and I am going away the weekend after that. Did you and Mrs Moosens find a place??? are you and her going to need help moving? Let us know and I am sure my other fellow pennsylvanians could help.... Matt
  2. When is this gala event???? I really really want to see the car. Matt
  3. RE idea #2: I see a need for a 4th position. "normal" for those times when you are on a wet/rain covered surface. I totally like the idea though....and I might even be inclined to buy an automatic one day if I had a gizmo like this available..... As always Skip....you mind is always think huh? Matt
  4. Welcome and congrats on the new car....What color is yours???? Mine is Green. Note the signature at the bottem. Matt
  5. I think this is a great idea. Are the pulleys the same for an xt6? I believe that the EA-82 is a great motor and its fullest potential has not been reached yet. I have a plan on the back burner for a screaming xt machine....I am leaning toward a 6 but if this has good potential I might go the ea-82 route (unless these would work on an xt6) I think an even $200 is a very fair price and $50 core (total of $250 if you don't have core) I believe that time is money so if you are going to do it you might as well make it worth your time...... Matt
  6. My advise for when Qman isn't around..... a winch or a really good come-a-long.....and get rid of the open diff would ya... Did I miss something about this car....whose was it? envious in PA, Matt
  7. Mudrat: where in PA is this person from....there are a few of us here in the snowy state of PA..... As for a club....I wish. Post: I didn't get out in it yet.... yet the key word here. I want to try out the new one....see how it does without a LSD in the rear....might be change to that issue in the summer though. Matt PS: all my fellow Pennsylvanians....cheer on your local football teams on sunday....Lets have a Pennsylvania superbowl.
  8. Maybe Bucky was just having a smoke break... Matt
  9. My wifes 04 stick will get about 26 to 27 in town so 30 could be a realistic but I would say once it has some mileage on it though...(loosens up a little) Matt
  10. I thought I heard they start at about $29k and go up to $35-38k. I could be wrong but.... either way I would not buy it.....I don't need it. Matt
  11. was I the only one who noticed some of the standard features on the chevy forester: I picked up on 2 things.... a self leveling rear suspension and a LOW RANGE. As for the Saabaru issue....I giggle everytime I see one...."congratulations....you just paid too much for a Subaru" I once heckeled a guy in a parking lot.... and point and laugh at them on the highway.... and they always just look at my subaru (new impreza thank you) and wonder...."wonder what he paid" Hey Saabhole...nice subaru is one of my favorite lines.... BTW, I have always embraced the justys....so don't put me into that BS about not liking the justys. A subaru is a subaru no matter what it is....but a saabaru is just an overpriced impreza. Matt
  12. The driver... Sorry...had to do it. OK my guess is a bad fuel injector or plugged fuel filter. Matt
  13. Did you ever consider putting 2 flat 4's together and having a flat 8? I don't think it would be too much room and that would definately be a "super car" I totally love the idea of a mid engine car...please make it....please please please... Matt
  14. LSD is on the XS and up models and in the older gen it is the S model and up. Simple rule of thumb....if it has painted bumpers then it should have an LSD. If you are looking at older stuff the presence of a cold pkg. is a good indicator too. I agree with whoever said buy an 03 or newer if you can.....we had an 00 and it was great but our 04 is soooo much better. BTW, the stick shifts rock! Matt
  15. just drop me a line when they are available..... Could you PM me paul's cell #? Thanks, Matt
  16. simply stated.... :D Congrats paul... I wish I could see the look on his face.... Dave: how about the pics from yesterday??? Are they up yet? Matt
  17. Looks like it needs an alignment. Wonder if it has enough snort to turn those tires on the trail???? :-\ Matt
  18. First and foremost....WOW thats a lot of stuff in there. For anyone who doesn't know we (Paul, Dave, Melis, Connie, and me) attempted to clean out paul's "shed" for his newest member to be at his house hopefully on Sun. morning (cross fingers). You really need to see this place. There is enough stuff in there to supply most everyone on the board with their needs. The thing that really kills me is he pays more for the storage than I pay in rent for my house. Paul: When Pat leaves there make sure you send him by way of the TZ bridge...I went home that way tonight and it was sooooooo much quicker. Highs of the trip: -meeting everone and having a great time -a little hard work doesn't kill anyone - "suc dis" -Paul's wood Lows: -NYC driving in general -All the NJ cops that were out on the way up -slow pokes on the way home (can't you folks speed at night like you do in the daytime?) -the A-hole who let the gas run down the side of my new car in NJ on the way home. Thanks New Jerkme for the stupid law that says I can't pump my own damn gas. Also I would like to say to the folks that were at the "First Church" today....Thank You! Thanks for making me feel welcome and Paul thank you for the goodies too! To anyone who is reading this: If you can get to Paul's shop before he closes the doors forever please do....it is totally worth the trip Good night folks and happy subaru dreaming.... Matt
  19. Tranny wouldn't be a big deal in my opinion. Use a FWD legacy trans or if you wanted AWD you could run the tailshaft into a box and send a drive shaft up the middle to an LSD for the front end. I have though along these lines (the car) too once before but I am seriously lacking in the ability and space to do something like this.... Corky: You just might be on to something.... Matt
  20. Paul: Keep me informed if an event is going to happen Pat: Hope all is well and please be safe. You know what they say about fords.... Matt
  21. Paul: Are you having a social hour/ welcome to CT.party at the "first church of the..." this weekend? If so...I am interested in meeting and greeting the fine folks up your way... Matt
  22. I drove a left over wrx wagon and I liked it but you need to rev the crap out of it in my opinion to get it to move well. I think it is a little too peaky for my tastes as an everyday car to go to work in. It also requires premium and gets worse gas mileage. I like to go fast but I don't have to do it right now (I'm not a 0-60 freak....I like running up to 80-90 and crusing there) The wife hated the seats in the WRX ( I liked them but she said they were uncomfortable) As for around town power...oh heck yeah it is fine. (I haven't really opened it up since it is still in break in period (550 miles)) I am also concerned about longevity of the car....I plan on owning this car for a very long time... Lets not forget about price too....my 05 stickered at 20,070 and I got it for a few bucks under invoice and got a very good trade (on top of dealing from the below invoice price) on my 95 OBS. The 04 WRx was in the high 23's to low 24's and I couldn't get cheap financing on it because it was a leftover (I got 2.9 for 63 months on the 05) You really need to drive one and you'll see the difference trust me. They both have strong points and both have weaknesses too. Matt
  23. I got a banging deal on my OBS that I just bought. It is a Special edition package too which has an armrest ext., 6 disk with prem speakers and sub, rear wing, and special wheels. This is why I bought the OBS as opposed to an RS wagon. In the end I saved money and gained an inch of groung clearance. (big deal right) Matt
